Ginnie Crawford is a retired professional track and field athlete specializing in the 100 meter hurdles. Crawford is a Four time NCAA champion, former collegiate record holder, two-time US champion, and represented the USA on 4 world championship teams. Crawford competed for Nike for 10 years, and was ranked top 10 in the world yearly. During the last two years of her career, she earned her MA in Education and after she retired she ran her way right into the classroom. Her passion for education and leading the children of our future is what fuels her. Crawford is now in her 3rd year of teaching and is teaching mathematics at Seattle Academy. “Track and field has taken me around the world to over 24 countries, exploring culture and life through a diverse lens. I’m fortunate to be able to bring this experience and growth mindset into the classroom. WHEN: Saturday (10/27)

We’re excited to announce will be a guest speaker at this year’s SWEAT. Essence Russ was born & raises in Tacoma, WA, was a cheerleader for 3 years in high school as well as for 2 years in college at Seattle University. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. & has participated in (and won ;) several step shows in Washington State & Oregon. Essence grew up with a grandfather who believed that fruits and vegetables were our medicine. He grew his own fruits & vegetables in his garden and went for morning jogs until the age of 81. This lifestyle was modeled to Essence at a very early age & was engrained very early on. Essence has adapted this sustainable lifestyle & is dedicated to helping others live their healthiest lives. She is a licensed MixxedFit instructor, a Pound Pro as well as certified to teach Strong by Zumba. She looks forward to sharing energy with you!

We’re excited to announce of will be a guest speaker at this year’s SWEAT. Jess finds inspiration in movement - both professionally and personally. With a degree in Kinesiology and a background as both a collegiate athlete and collegiate strength coach - movement and wellness have played a huge role in Jess' life. She believes that movement is best used as a tool to live the most fulfilling life possible. Her involvement in the fitness industry has been global, from teaching water aerobics (don't judge!) in a hospital rehab center to coaching CrossFit. She has also owned and taught within her personal training business, corporate wellness business, and currently her yoga business, Just Add Yoga. As the marketing director for Just Add Yoga, she built the business from the ground up using organic social media and Facebook ads as the main drivers of community, awareness, and ticket sales. In addition to running Just Add Yoga, she is a full time Social Media Strategist, Facebook Ads Specialist, and Events Marketing consultant that helps clients understand their motives, fears, and goals to develop well rounded social strategies that convert.

Akanni is on the cutting edge of the global yoga scene, presenting her workshops at major festivals and conferences throughout the region. He is not only a seasoned realtor, investor and developer, but also a proud ambassador of the American Dream. During his 30 years in the real estate industry, he has built over 300 homes, townhomes and multifamily units and completed over 100 flips. He currently holds 120 rental units with the goal of owning 1000 investment properties. Thach and his team have assisted over 1,500 families to create their own American Dream of home ownership, ranking him in the Top 1% of all real estate professionals nationwide. Thach constructed 7 new homes for homeless families at Seattle’s First Place School to help them secure permanent housing. His rags to riches story and unique brand of contribution-based success, captured the attention of The Seattle Times, NW Asian Weekly, Puget Sound Business Journal, The International Examiner and The Early Show on CBS.
