Florence Elementary School

This is a friendly reminder that school starts 7:25am. I have been giving you a 10-minute grace period due to the amount of car riders we have. With that being said, between 7:10-7:20 our car rider line is empty. Students are tardy at 7:30am. Once we leave the car rider line your child is tardy, and you will need to park and walk them in. This has been a rule all year, but we are enforcing it now. Please do not part along the car rider line to walk your child in, this will only cause issues with families trying to leave. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Reminders for all Florence Families....

1. Early pick up for an appointment needs to happen before 1:30 pm. By 1:30 pm, our afternoon dismissal procedures will have begun. Checking out after 1:30 pm, we cannot guarantee that your child will be able to get to the office quickly which would delay you getting out of the parking lot in a timely manner.

2. Park in the upper lot if picking up early or have a parent-teacher conference. Parking in the lower lot will get you stuck in the car rider line if you are needing to leave.

3. Please pull up as far as possible in the car rider lines in the mornings and afternoons. This helps us get as many cars as we can in the parking lot, especially in the afternoons. This will keep us from having a line out to Penny Road.

4. Please SLOW DOWN and WATCH YOUR SPEED. We have many students trying to get to their dismissal spot in the afternoons, as well as students and staff walking across parking lots.
*3-5 Car Rider Line Parents--There is a stop sign at the turn to go down to the K-2 line, please make sure you stop before you go straight to pick your child up. No matter if a staff member is standing there or not. Please make sure you are following all traffic signs within the school parking lot.

5. Any change of transportation out of what was originally told to your child’s teacher, please send in a note and/or call the office. If we do not know of the change. Then we will send the child home as they normally would.

Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes this Saturday to Fall Festival. Yay!

Please Remember: This is an elementary school so please no super scary costumes. Also, this is a school function and we still have to abide by GCS standards in dress code. We do not think we will have issues with our little ones but a reminder is always nice. We can’t wait to see everyone!!
