Launch Into Learning, Howard County, MD

We are a partnership of Howard County organizations and educators focused on enhancing each Howard County child's opportunity for school success.

The Work Group meets regularly to plan activities that support children, families, teachers, and programs before, during, and after the transition to Kindergarten. We have developed a transition toolkit for use by preschool providers and public school Kindergarten teachers. We host information sessions for families on the transition process. Our ultimate goal is to support the needs of children and families as they move from a preschool program to a public school Kindergarten.

Patterns are all around us! They are in the stripes on our clothing and the beat to our favorite songs. Pointing out these patterns and creating patterns with preschoolers helps them to start learning about math, music and much more.
TRY THIS: Make a movement pattern game. Try taking a step, then a hop, then a step, then a hop. Let your child choose the next movement to add in.
