The holidays are often associated with some family feasting, but you should still keep an eye on your fat intake. Your body has two options for fuel, carbs for instant energy and fats that have to be converted to fuel. It takes energy to convert fats to fuel, which can compete with the energy you need on demand when you're playing your sport. If you feel sluggish during your physical activity it could be what is referred to as "metabolic crossover effect", which means your body is trying to convert fat to fuel at the same time your muscles need energy to perform.
