Hey Alumni heading to Waubonsee! Get yourself in choir next semester!

Learn from professional musicians and composers. Waubonsee music faculty are professional musicians and composers and perform in the community. Fall semester begins August 19.

This weekend our students dedicated themselves to rehearsal and team building at our annual Madrigal Retreat! 🎶 👑 The weekend culminated in a cookout and backyard concert for parents- a harmonious blend of hard work and celebration! 🎉🎶

We're thrilled to announce some exciting new changes in our fine arts staff across the district!

🎵 Tina Barber is stepping into the role of Music Teacher at Smith Elementary.

🎶 Eliseo Martinez is joining Nicholson Elementary as their new Music Teacher.

🎷 Victor Anderson is the new Director of Bands at West Aurora High School.

🎤 Erica Barnett, previously the music teacher at Nicholson Elementary, is joining the team at Jefferson Middle School as their new Choir/Music Teacher.

📚 Cheryl Hellyer, formerly the music teacher at Smith Elementary, will now serve as the K-5 Fine Arts, PE, and Health Department Administrator.

We closed out our time in the St. Louis area with a full day at Six Flags! Next stop: home!

St. Louis Tour day 2! We began the day with a tour of the city, performed at Ballpark Village, got out on the water, went to the top of the iconic Gateway Arch, ate at The Old Spaghetti Factory, and finished the day with the INCREDIBLE MJ the Musical at the Fabulous Fox Theatre!

Our students had an action packed first day in St. Louis to kick off our tour! We had the privilege to sit in on an opera rehearsal at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, followed by an excellent masterclass with Dr. Schapman. We met the animals and fed the baby goats at Grant's Farm, then overcame our fears of heights and flesh-eating fish at the City Museum!

A Ca****la Choir joined together with East Aurora Choir tonight to celebrate the class of 2024 at Hope D Wall! Congratulations graduates! 🚀

Our final concert of the year is this Wednesday, and will include a special world premiere performance as A Ca****la Choir performs “in the end” by our very own Daniel Currie.

We hope you will join us on Wednesday to hear this excellent new work performed live for an audience for the very first time!

This concert will feature a wide variety of choral music, including the world premier of a brand new work written by one of our own… details to come!

SPRING MUSICAL 🔵🔴Get ready for a whopper of a tale!

This year West Aurora High School is putting on the musical Big Fish, based on the beloved book by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 movie directed by Tim Burton.

🎟 Tickets are on sale right now and performances are April 25-27 at 7:00pm and April 28 at 2:00pm.

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest…and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales.
