Tuesday we played Thunder Ridge to win 3-2. 2 goals by Haven Ivins and one by 1 by Jenna Kauer. Brooklyn Robertson saved three one on one attacks on goal. Miriam Romero had her first game back since her ACL injury last fall. She played amazing! I can’t wait to see what this team can do! The girls played with so much heart for a teammate tonight. She was in an accident. She couldnt come but she was not forgotten by her teammates ❤️
Congrats on the big win! 🥔❤️⚽️
Last night, cheered on by their parents, family, and teammates, Shelley Girls Varsity Soccer played Rigby HS and won 2-0! The team as a whole stood out tonight because of the way they fought the entire game. Our defensive line worked well together to defend an onslaught of attacks from the Rigby offense. Brooklyn Robertson, our goalie, threw her body every direction to save the ball, to punch the ball and defend our goal. Mica Oler and Grace Pascoe both saved goals because they covered Brooklyn from behind. Our Midfield did an amazing job distributing the ball to our offensive attackers, driving the ball forward up the field, and stopping their midfielders effectively moving forward. Our forward line was very effective as focal points to press Rigby’s back line and challenge their keeper. In the first half, a ball popped over the top of their defensive line by Maylie Miles and left footed cutting shot between the defender and the goalie by Haven Ivins gave us our first goal! Our second came from a corner kick by Jenna Kauer to Maylie Miles with a header goal! These girls are amazing! I am so proud to take part in their training and to watch them progress. Go LadyRussets!
Maile Harward is our Student of the Week. She is genuine and friendly to everyone. She truly loves school and learning. Kindness is a strong trait of her personality, and other students say, "She is a joy to be around and to have in class." Her smile and cheery attitude makes everyone else happy. 😀
Mr. Cuevas and the PE classes are going to have fun with their "regular" sized soccer ball!
We have great students at SHS! Brendon and Gentry went above and beyond to help Coach Foster. Thank you for being a great example of selfless acts!
