The Meritas Seminar at Balliol College, Oxford University is accepting applications for the 2013 enrollment in "Meeting the Challenges of Democracy"
Meritas Family of Schools will be hosting its first ever Meritas Seminar - an exciting summer program at Balliol College, Oxford. Students invited to participate in this program will take part in a two week Aspen-style seminar entitled Meeting the Challenges of Democracy. Distinguished teachers from Meritas schools will lead seminars on democratic theory and the cultural challenges of instituting
democracy in non western countries. While participating in this program, students will also have the rare opportunity to meet with Oxford admission staff and undergraduates to discuss life and admissions at Balliol College, one of the oldest and largest of Oxford’s colleges (established in 1263). In addition, regular trips and enriching activities will be arranged for each afternoon, as well as on the final weekend, to tour historical and architectural landmarks at various locations across England. Students will also have the opportunity to visit famous libraries and museums, take a boat ride down the Thames, and visit Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament in London. Our students will surely walk away from this wonderful educational and
cultural experience with a greater appreciation of the world around them!
