and the answer is.... B :)

At first glance they seem almost identical, there is slight difference in how the light wraps around the baby, but to be honest, I'd have trouble guessing myself!

So why bother with studio light. Well, first of all, the quality. Whereas the aperture and shutter speed were comparable, iso was the value that had to be bumped up in the natural light set up, as there wasn't enough of it… in June at 1.00pm! Natalie was already shooting pretty wide at f2.0 and couldn't really get any lower than 1/100 on her shutter speed without risking a handshake and soft image, so her only option was to put the iso as high as 800. Shooting with studio light gives you a greater control over your lighting situation and lets YOU decide what your settings are going to have.

Additionally, studio light is reliable, no more stressing out and checking weather forecast every 5 minutes the evening before a shoot and wondering if there's going to be sufficient natural light. I don't know about you, but I live in North West, a rather rainy spot, and that one thing, being totally out of my control, used to drive me mad.

And on the top of that, studio light is consistent and constant throughout the session, no need to keep your eye on white balance or change your settings with every passing cloud. Your white balance is always the same and editing is a breeze.

So quality, reliability and consistency, that's why I LOVE studio light :) xx

Thank you so much for your support and so nice to see so many familiar faces :)

There's been quite a few messages asking about our 1-2-1 mentoring sessions and workshops. We've decided to do a few 1-2-1 mentoring sessions over the summer, and then will start workshops around September/October.

We'll be releasing first couple of dates for our mentoring sessions early next week, so make sure you call round if you're interested :) xx

b. image on the left taken with natural and image on the right taken with studio light
