🔵 Skill - any - is the ability of the brain 🧠 to create pathways (neural and muscular). The more one trains the deeper these pathways get.
🟠 The brain 🧠 remembers these pathways and builds on them either higher level skills or new skills that can complement others.
🟡 Once you have learnt something, you cannot unlearn it, unless of course there is an accident or a serious . After an injury with training you are helping the brain to remember. The higher the level of the acquired skill the easier it is for the brain to remember.
🟣 Doing on a yoga ball or with an elastic band may be affecting your skill negatively.
➡️ For example, a with a ball under your foot/leg is the opposite muscle activation you need in class as you are pushing downwards to control the ball.
🔴 Just because it looks like ballet, does not mean it is ballet specific. Question and critically appraise everything you see or read.
🟢 is a skill and it takes time to build. The sooner you start the better you’ll be. There is general strength and there is specific strength. Both needed!
