We are excited to welcome 70+ new undergraduate and graduate music students this fall, including the first cohort of Vocal Chamber Music students who will be on campus in October. Looking forward to seeing all of our new and returning students in the coming days! Och tamale!

Summer Cello Workshop (ages 12–18)
Workshop Dates: July 15–20, 9am to 4:30pm (Monday through Friday) and 11am to 4:30pm (Saturday)
Cello Extravaganza Concert: July 20 at 2pm
Summer Cello Workshop is a comprehensive six day music program for young cellists who have played the cello for a minimum of two years and are between the ages of 12–18 (11-year-olds may be given special consideration with teacher recommendation). The schedule is filled with private lessons, monitored individual practice time, cello ensemble coaching sessions, orchestra rehearsals, and daily performance classes. The week culminates with masterclasses and a Cello Extravaganza Concert of student cello quartets and cello orchestra. The cost for this day camp is $475 per student.

He will be giving fantasic Master classes of Flute Solo Repertoire and Orchestral Excerpts, and solo recital!
Stephen Kujala - Award-winning multi-style recording artist, classical and jazz, composer, teacher-clinician and in-demand Hollywood Studio Musician. He will be presenting an exciting and engaging interactive seminar entitled The 21st Century Flutist!
Cindy Ellis - Piccoloist of the Pacific Symphony, sought-after soloist, chamber, orchestral musician, clinician and teacher.She will be presenting a wonderful Master Class of Piccolo Solo and Orchestral Excerpts.
Sara Andon - International flute soloist, chamber, orchestral musician, recording artist and Hollywood Studio Musician; Principal Flutist of the Redlands Symphony; Artist Teacher of Flute, University of Redlands and Idyllwild Arts Academy. She will be the featured soloist with the Redlands Symphony on Sat.May 18 at 8 PM.
Sandy Kipp Iles - Professor of Flute at CSU Northridge, sought-after clinician and active freelance artist in Los Angeles, music contractor, creator of professional preparation seminars, and 2019 Flute Festival Flute Choir Director/Clinician. Motivating and inspiring!
Cynthia Kelley - Freelance flute artist in Los Angeles and the creator and CEO of "FLUTACIOUS!", an incredible flute company specializing in sales of highest quality, top-of-the line flutes and piccolos, as well as stellar intermediate and entry-level flutes and piccolos, exhibits and expert flute repair.

Instrumental Music Program
University Orchestra - Dr. Co Nguyen The University Orchestra is a group of String, Wind, and Percussion players directed by Dr. Co Nguyen. This group takes part in many exciting events on campus including the annual Feast of Lights, the Opera, and the Concerto Concert.
Wind Ensemble - Dr. Eddie Smith In the Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Eddie Smith, wind players and percussionists work on a wide variety of music. Some pieces we have we worked on recently include Symphony No. 2 by Frank Ticheli, Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger, and Hammersmith by Gustav Holst.
Studio Big Band - Dr. David Scott The Studio Big Band is our main Jazz ensemble on campus. It is directed by Dr. David Scott and features a large range of rep including standards like Spain and Birdland to more modern works from Chick Corey and Radiohead.
Symphonic Band - Dr. David Scott The Symphonic Band directed by Dr. David Scott is our other main concert band on campus. This group is unique because they have a large amount of non-music major students.
