PharmD students Deeya Karkera and Kristi Lee are on an APPE rotation at Kitasato University School of Pharmacy in Japan. The experience is a mixture of visits and practice observation in patient care clinics, hospitals and community pharmacies, along with classroom sessions on better understanding the Japanese health care system and pharmacy education in Japan.

We're pleased to host the University of Iowa SHPEP Summer Health Professions Education Program students at the College of Pharmacy for hands-on activities! They compounded medicine, made lip balm and bug soother, and filled capsules. The six-week summer program exposes underrepresented students to various health professions.

Clinical Associate Professor Stevie Veach recently spent time teaching at Japan’s Keio University as part of our Faculty Exchange Program. 🏫 She shared about health care and pharmacy practice in the United States and learned the same about Japan and Thailand from students of the two countries. 💉
