Students from grades 3-5 at Mary Lee Clark enjoyed Mega Party 2024 this past Friday. They gave their best efforts on state tests, achieved academic excellence, and celebrated their positive behavior at this after school event. Colored powder, glow in the dark dancing, games, crafts, and more were had by all! These kids had a blast with their peers and made lots of great memories together.

Joshua Lewis completed the installation of his Eagle Scout project this past Saturday in the library at MLC. The project consisted of cutting, staining and installing permanent shelf dividers on numerous library shelves. The dividers will help clean up the shelves and make it so the books won't fall over. The dividers will also make it easier for students to find the books they are wanting. Thank you so much to Joshua and his team for helping us upgrade our shelving here at Mary Lee Clark Elementary School.

May - 2 -Lena Townes is Mrs. Garrick's Marlin Sailor of the Month. She is a sweet girl. This school year she has worked very hard to learn as much as possible. I love how when she doesn't understand something she asks for help and doesn't get frustrated. Lena is a really good friend and gets along with everyone in her class. She is always willing to give a helping hand wherever is needed. I have enjoyed being her teacher this year. I'm very proud of her. Keep up the good work next year! Love, Mrs. Garrick

Teacher Appreciation has got off to fun and exciting start! Monday our teachers and staff were treated to a 50s style diner with hot dogs, nachos, and soda floats! Today was a fun flower pot celebrating the 60s flower power thanking our staff for helping our students grow!
Every afternoon there will be a drawing for a staff member to win a gift card. Monday's lucky winner was Mrs. Holmes, one of our fabulous 1st grade teachers.

👚 Don’t forget to wear your field day t-shirt OR a t-shirt you don’t mind getting messy.
🧢Hats and sunglasses are ok and encouraged if they do not cause problems. Sunscreen and bug spray are always a good idea too. Please apply to your child before they come to school. Children will be getting messy with powder at the color run station. It may also be a good idea to send in a towel for after the color run.
🪧There will be a sign in tent set up near the fence on the gym side of the school (far left side of the building) for parents that want to come and walk around with their child participate in the outside activities. Sorry NO younger siblings are allowed to attend and siblings who both attend MLC but have different field days will not be permitted to come together.

Congratulations to Mrs. Foreman, our amazing MLC cafeteria manager, on receiving the Georgia School Nutrition Association Gold Scroll Award at the annual conference this month. The Gold Scroll Award award is given to counties that affiliate as a Georgia School Nutrition Association Chapter. The GSNA sets guidelines with projects and an agenda that focus on school nutrition missions and visions. There is a point system to earn either Gold, Silver or Bronze based on what your county completes from the agenda from the state. The scroll's purpose is to promote school nutrition, teach us to work with our industry partners and to advocate for school nutrition funds, retirement and nutrition guideline restrictions for healthy meals. Thank you Mrs. Foreman for all your hard work and dedication to our school!
