It’s time to redefine your health by assessing your gut, nutrition, mindset and fitness goals with the supportive coaching of Dr. Rachel Gregg.
I want to show you how you can THRIVE – not just survive. There IS a better way to heal! I took the leap of faith and started my business in 2013. While it has evolved over the years, the intent has remained the same – to serve others well and to help them realize a balanced lifestyle by teaching about the gut-brain connection, the importance of nutrition and setting realistic fitness goals. To teach about how they all work together to provide VITALITY to life and to provide my unique perspective on medication since I am a licensed pharmacist. The beauty in life is realizing your gift. The fun begins when you give that gift to others. I have been blessed with an amazing gift, and I would like nothing more than to share it with YOU!
Operating as usual
THE MOMENT WHEN I REALIZED THE ONLY PERSON STANDING IN MY WAY WAS ME...
Wow a powerful and freedom moment indeed! 🚀
Imagine what would happen and what you could achieve if you decided to BELIEVE in YOU!
To believe in yourself...to believe...to believe that yes you have all the tools to make all your dreams come true! 💛
The last few months have been tough...ups and Downs...health concerns with family...so many distractions in our world today it can be tough to stay focused...
Yes all valid points but then realized I was making excuses for not doing the work
The work I was put on the planet to do...
Not sharing my gifts with the world is actually selfish
Have you been suppressing your voice lately?!
Allowing fear of what others may think of what you say and suppressing yourself...
Well I’m here to call BS on my own thought process and fears...the time is NOW to let go of the old ways that no longer serve a purpose
Stand in the face of fear and do it anyway...bask in the glow of success...your own success!!
What does success feel and look like to you?
Won’t you come along side me and raise the vibration on this planet...truth is we need it NOW more than ever! 💜
Wellness Wednesday...let’s shake it up a bit!!
The 5 things learning to waterski taught me.🏄🏼♀️🏄🏼♀️
Alright stick with me here! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I know that in times like we are living in right now this may seem very trivial, but as I was thinking about it, it's so symbolic of things we experience in life!
🌟 You need to start by believing in your goals and dreams before anyone else will start to believe.
I fell so many times in my quest to stay standing and actually ski across the water - fifth time was the charm!!! 😂 Now mind you there were many, many dumps in the water each and everyone of those “five” attempts. 😅
🌟Surround yourself with positive people that will push you forward and will continue to instill in you the belief in those times when you let doubt creep into your mind.
Without the ♥️ and support of a dear friend of mine me standing up and guiding me on the water - my success might not have happened.
🌟Finding ways to stay focused on the goal at hand even when there is so much noise..be it literal noise from the outside world or perhaps the mental, negative noise that finds its way inside your head.
🌟This mission and purpose that is inside of you to accomplish your goals has been put there for a reason.
Don’t ignore that drive inside you to get things done and to achieve great things in your life.
🌟Stay true to yourself through all of the ups and downs of any situation...even when making a well choreographed plunge into the water face first...get back up be YOU.
🗣️ YOU will glide towards those dreams that rest in your heart!
Happy Waterskiing through this journey we call life.
Well, hello there...allow me to introduce myself. 👋🏻
It has been a hot second since I have taken the time to welcome all my new followers...maybe even some of you who have been here for a little while will learn a thing or two... 😉
My name is Rachel Gregg and I am a doctor of pharmacy. I’m passionate about all things health and wellness. (CUE my podcast: "A Better Way to Heal" - go listen and subscribe where all podcasts live!)
I love to move my body whether that is on my Peloton bike, 🏃🏼♀️ running outside, strength training or walking with my little Peanut (Chihuahua/MinPin mix). It all makes me very happy!
Warm, sunny weather is my jam and being in nature near water is my happy place.☀️☀️Being at my lake house in Upstate NY is where I feel most at home and alive.
✖️ I tend to not shy away from things that make me uncomfortable...I may have the fear inside my body but I will still go after it! 💪🏻💪🏻
I have never considered my self the smartest, most talented in the arena but I will be damned if I ever let anyone outwork me! 😅
I’m an animal lover and would love nothing more than to open my own health and wellness holistic retreat that incorporates the healing that animals give us in so many situations. 🐶🌿
Just a few things you may or may not have know about me....tell me: what is one thing that most people don’t know about you?? 👇🏻👇🏻
Well, if only it was that easy, right?! 😅
I say this at the end of every podcast episode. Why?
Because I truly want this for you. I truly want you to be happy and to be healthy.
To experience life "on the other side" just like I have. I have literally stood where you are standing right now.
I've had the unhealthy expectations of myself.
I have ignored my mental health.
I looked to running/fitness to get away from my problems.
I have had (and still have) unhealthy eating habits.
If you feel like you are on an island and like no one can understand or that your health/problems are too broken to fix - I GET YOU.
Here's what I know.
👉🏻 You have to want to change. You have to crave it. To pursue it.
But I can help you. I can encourage and keep you on track and to let you know that you are understood and HEARD.
That you are valued. Invested in. WORTH IT.
Are you ready to own this statement?!
I often get asked what my favorite leafy green is.
Probably because greens are one the hardest things for my clients when it comes to changing their diets because a lot of people just make salads to try to be healthier, and it gets SUPER boring. (Am I right?!)
I hate boring foods, and that's why I pick KALE as my favorite leafy green. 😉😉😉
It's super nutrient dense and because there are so many different types of kale, it's a very versatile option in food.
Types of Kale:
💠Curly Kale (the most common one you'll see at the store)
💠Lacinato Kale (Or Dinosaur Kale - my personal fave!)
💠Red Russian Kale (Smaller and typically sweeter).
And the lesser known varieties like Chinese Kale (Chinese Broccoli) and Siberian Kale. You get extra points if you can find these in your grocery store!!
I use Kale in:
🌿 Kale Chips
🌿 Add it to Spaghetti or Taco Meat
I even it it RAW. Yes. I know. 😅 But I absolutely love it.
What's your favorite way to eat Kale?
Being the very best version of you means that you have to take care of YOU. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I think turning 40 this year, all of the COVID craziness and then losing my best friend Luke 🐶 just has me wanting to spread this message with you because it has never been more obvious to me that my mental health is KEY.
It's been a ROUGH year, and we have to do the work to take care of our mental health.
Especially right now as everything appears to be ramping back up again.☠️☠️☠️
There are so many unknowns and so much fear from every corner - but the light at the end of the tunnel?!
🗣️ It starts with YOU. It starts with me.
What we choose to pour into.
What we choose to digest.
What actions we take.
👉🏻 What words we speak.
And what we do FOR ourselves directly impacts those around us!!

There are a few ways to get to push-up glory. 🙌⭐️
If you have a love/hate relationship with these guys - this video is for YOU!
Maybe you need to brush up on your skills, or maybe you're just starting out.
Either way - let's get after it! 👏👏
I had massive struggles with exercise when I was younger.
Gymnastics were not my thing. ✖️
I had an eye patch when I was a kid, and the balance beam was my nemesis. ☠️
Once I got into running in my teens, running was my "go-to" and instead of fear and a lack of confidence, my struggle turned into over training and burnout.
Running and I were in a relationship, and sometimes it was a little toxic.
I was obsessed with running every day to "burn off" the calories and unhealthy eating habits I was in.
Fast forward a few years and now? Running for me is a way to just enjoy life.
But it took work on my part. I changed habits. I changed my thoughts, and I changed my perspective on working out.
What about you? What's your perspective on working out?
It’s about time to get fired up and passionate about a mission, a purpose that means something to YOU! 💜⠀
“Everybody dies but not everybody lives”⠀
✖️This is not the time to sit back and be quiet. This is the time to show up and not just be in the “cheap seats” of life.⠀
It’s about doing more than just commenting on a post. ⠀
The opportunity is at our finger tips right now in the world...the chance to make a REAL impact and stop hiding behind the computer or phone with your loud fingers.⠀
🗣️ USE YOUR ACTIONS and VOICE FOR CHANGE!⠀
I’m looking for people who are ready to change the world! Come run (yes the runner in me is ignited!) with me!⠀
Who out there is ready to run with me (no babysitting here) towards making an impact that will be felt for generations to come?!⠀
Run towards the beautiful chance to be able to change the world and get into ACTION! (I love moving my body forward).⠀
Who is ready to stop sitting back and just letting opportunities pass you by?!⠀
It’s time to take your power back and it’s happening with or without you...it’s going to be an amazing ride!
Physical wellness isn't everything. 🙅🏼🙅🏼
In fact. I would argue that if you don't have your mental wellness as your #1 priority, your physical wellness will decline because of it.
And there's more coming. Politics, fires, and YOU NAME IT. There's a lot of stuff going on.😰
But we need to focus on the positives of this situation!!
This episode is such a timely message right now because I heard a few statistics the other day that FLOORED ME.
There was a study recently conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation that found the following:
✖️45% of Americans are being impacted by mental wellness issues.
✖️39% increase in anti-anxiety medications.
✖️19% increase in anti-depressants
I believe there is another phase of the pandemic - and that is the effect this pandemic will have on our long-term mental health.
This episode tackles a SOLUTION to the problem!!

Have you ever wanted to leave the good for the GREAT?!
What has held you back?!
Worrying about what others will think or say about YOU?!
It's time to change that story!!
Leaving the good for great means that when you look in the mirror - you like what you see. That's it.
Other people’s opinions of you? ✖️Who cares!
You need to focus on YOU. Stay in your own lane.
🌟Do the work.
🌟Be bolder and braver than the rest.
Take a look in that mirror and be faithful to making that person better every single day.
Who is with me?!

Do you ever struggle with your mindset about food?⠀
Because I definitely did.😅⠀
As a kid, I was a super picky eater. I would only eat certain things. 🍪🍫🍿⠀
Doritos and white cheese popcorn were my JAM.⠀
It wasn't until I started running until I started paying attention to what I was eating. And ha! I thought it was healthier.⠀
Think bagels, pizza, pasta, lots of dairy, etc.⠀
My gut was like: "Excuse me?!"🤨🤨⠀
I then developed a control issue as far as the calorie count.⠀
When I was stressed, I didn't eat. As I got older, I would just eat more, and then go for a run to burn them off.⠀
It was a constant push-pull until I realized that food is FUEL for my body.⠀
And that was a massive mindset shift for me.⠀
When you look critically at your mindset about food and what you're using it as, THEN you can start to build healthy habits.🙌🙌⠀
If you don't, then the cycle will just repeat itself like it did for me. It may look different, but trust me when I tell you - ❌it's just as damaging and just as difficult to get out of that cycle!⠀
If you want to talk shop about nutrition, or you know you need help changing that mindset, reach out. I know exactly where you're coming from, because I've been there!⠀
There is a better way to heal. And it doesn't involve you starving yourself, working yourself to death to burn the calories, or continuing to stay trapped in the same cycle you've been in this whole time.
[06/29/20] What's that ONE song on your playlist that gets you hyped for your workout??
A hip workout.
Not hip like “trendy”, but literally a workout designed for your hips! 😉
Hip mobility is so important and it’s something that is often overlooked. Right now, the “work from home” routine might not be helping, either!
😫Excessive sitting can affect the extension and mobility in the hips - especially if we’re not working on stretching or movement in that specific area.
PLUS! If you’re a runner, tightness in your hips equals you not running to your full potential or max speed.🏃♀️🏃♀️
❌❌And it’s not just running!
Jumping and something as simple as walking is affected by hip flexion and mobility.
A lack of hip mobility and flexibility can cause tightness in your lower back and make you more prone to injury as well as your overall stability for day to day living.
All that to say: it's time to get those hips moving!
Here's a FREE workout for just that!

Here's the truth about sleep.
Today I'm talking about the how your gut health affects your sleep health.
Did you know there is a direct link between stress and sleep?
Stress increases cortisol and lowers serotonin and in turn, that means a lack of melatonin.
Lack of sleep prevents you from being able to lose weight, increases stress and anxiety, and causes that imbalance in hormones that makes everything go out of whack.
Sleep is your right! It's time to reclaim it.
Here's the truth about sleep. Today I'm talking about the how your gut health affects your sleep health. Did you know there is a direct link between stress a...
I hated team sports when I was in high school.
I wanted to step away from team sports, so in junior high - I tried out for the modified cross country team.
And that's when I felt like I really found my tribe. They were different in all the ways I felt that I was different.
It was a solo venture, but you were also part of a team. You could individually do well, and that would make the team do well, too!
It was a place where I could channel my emotions, clear my mind and the place where I felt the most successful.
My freshman year, our coach challenged us to run 500 miles!
She was not anticipating that I could do that, but I was up for the challenge.
It was a place for me to release stress, anxiety and to come into my own.
What's that one place for you where YOU feel the most successful?
