I’ve been a personal trainer for 5 years now, and one of the key areas I focus on with my clients is form. I believe in starting with the basics and making sure that the fundamental movements are done correctly before progressing or adding heavier weights.

This approach is the best way to prevent injuries and avoid developing bad habits that can slow down progress in the long run. Once we have proper form locked in, we can move on to more challenging exercises and start building muscle in a safe and effective way.

Along with exercise, I also prioritize nutrition. Fueling your body correctly is essential for getting the best results and avoiding fatigue or injury due to lack of proper nutrition. I focus not only on how much my clients are eating but also on what they’re eating. Ensuring they have the right balance of nutrients gives them the energy they need to power through workouts and recover properly afterward.

The key to success is building a solid foundation—it’s always best to walk before you can run. By creating sustainable habits around both exercise and nutrition, you’re setting yourself up for lifelong success. It’s about making changes that stick and building a lifestyle that supports your goals for the long term.

Do you look at chocolate as a reward?
If you've been to the gym or for a walk do you think oh, I deserve a treat now?
Looking at food in this way can be so damaging to your mindset and progress
I'm suggesting incorporating 'treats' into your diet and calories so that you don't crave them as much
Over resisting food and calories can results in binge eating so making it part of your day can help you stop thinking about it constantly
I also find that the biggest culprit to be craving sweet treats is when I've not got enough protein in my diet to fill me up on the good stuff! Try and make sure you've got some kind of protein in every meal!
Remember no one is perfect and small changes are the best way when starting out

FULL BODY WEIGHTS WORKOUT FOR BEGINNERS
Get your self to a bench and get comfy! A full body workout you can do with one bench so you don't need to keep moving round!
Goblet squat
Lunges
Chest press
Shoulder press
Tricep extension
Pick your weight aim for 10-12 rep for 3 sets if you get to 12reps, up your weight if you can't get to 10 then drop it down.
