TCDS Drama Club

There will not be drama practice on Monday or Thursday next week due to student conferences and Rodeo vacation.

Wizard of Oz Auditions are open to all TCDS students grades 4-8. Be prepared to do a cold read and sing a small section of a song from the musical.

Auditions will be held Tuesday, January 8th from 3-4:30pm.

GIANTS IN THE SKY - A New Musical for Young Actors GIANTS IN THE SKY is a new musical for kids age 7-14 to perform. Features a large cast, broadway-quality music, and an always FREE perusal script.

Come and see You're a Good Man Charlie Brown May 5th and 6th at 7pm at Tucson Country Day School in the activity center! It's going to be amazing!

You're a Good Man Charlie Brown has been cast! List goes up tomorrow after school. Rehearsals start Thursday. Way to go, everyone who auditioned! We're so excited to get started.

TCDS Drama Club is holding auditions for "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown"!

Auditions will be held January 9th & 12th from 3:00-4:00, for 4th through 8th graders.

Here’s what you need to do:

Sign up for a time slot with Ms. McDonald
Choose one scene from attached packet
Choose a) one song that showcases your voice from a musical (no pop songs, please) or
b) learn a song for the character that you auditioning for. There are song suggestions and youtube links in this packet. There are even karaoke versions of the songs on youtube!

We will only be casting 25 students which means we will be cutting some auditioners. This means that it is very important that you come prepared to your audition.
Some tips:
Listen to the music online.
Know the show--Who is your character? What is he/she like? What is happening in the scene you are performing?
Watch the show on youtube (there are several professional productions available for viewing). Be familiar with the story and the characters.
When you come in to audition, be loud and clear so we can hear you.
Remember that we want you to succeed! We’re looking for the perfect fit for the role--show us that you are it!

Tonight's the night! Come see "The Nightmare Before Christmas" tonight at 7:00! There will be another performance Saturday at 7:00 with a whole new cast, so check them both out!
