Merry Christmas!!! This past month we have made do many amazing memories. Including, several STEAM challenges which involved creating Christmas Trees, making the Tallest Elf on the Shelf, and lastly, a Jingle Bell Challenge. I had many friends dress up as twinzies and got all in to the holiday spirit. We also said bye to our practicum student, Ms. Beasley! Finally, Slshout out to all of my parents for making the Christmas party fun. It's hard to believe we are halfway through the school year. May you all be blessed in the new year!

It just makes me smile so big that my friends write me these little reminder notes so I don't forget to bring an item to school! In case you haven't heard, I forgot to bring the celery for a science experiment that was supposed to take place on Monday! ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ What would I do with out these kiddos?! ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ฅฐ
Give a Wanamaker shout-out to Brayden, Meghna, and Caroline! ๐ Brayden and Meghna will have an opportunity to represent our class in the Wanamaker Spelling Bee this January, and Caroline is our alternate! Yay! ๐๐๐๐๐
I am super proud of ALL, of my 3rd grade friends for being so unbelievably brave and giving ๐ฏ% for a chance to represent Ms. Greene's class in the Wanamaker Spelling Bee. I am definitely one blessed teacher!!! ๐๐โค๏ธ๐
In Science, we have been learning about the life cycle of an organism and traits/genes each organism inherits from their parents. In pairs, my friends got to exam two parent hosts and create some pretty amazing creates with modeling clay, while looking at a formula of traits to combine genes. I know that was a mouthful, but these kiddos got it and I couldn't be prouder! ๐ช๐๐
Happy Birthday to this sweet girl! Callie, thank you for always brightening our day with your sweet heart and big smile! ๐๐๐
This week has been absolutely beautiful and the weather has been perfect! So of course, I HAD to take them outside and get some pictures for their November memory books. Plus, they also helped create these beautiful butterfly wings in art, so why not take even more pictures?! I am loving every minute with my kiddos. ๐
Meet Ander, Jett's bearded dragon. The kids and I really enjoyed meeting the pet that brings Jett the most joy! Thank you Jett, for sharing Ander with us today. ๐
Today we were honored to celebrate Ibby's birthday! Ibby we are so blessed by your sweet, kind spirit. Happy Birthday!!! ๐๐๐
This week our class made several special memories. Throughout the week we learned what an election was, and how to campaign by holding a candy election. Each student was split up into 3 groups - gummy bears (and yes, I realized later that I spelled the name wrong on ballot๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ), M&M's, and Skittles. They each wrote a persuasive writing, created a catchy jingle, and created campaign posters. It was so much fun, and boy, we're these kids creative! We held a very grown up voting session too. All in all, we voted and gummy bears won!!!
Lastly on Friday, Wanamaker honored our veterans with a special assembly. Thank you to all of our Veterans who have served, and are currently serving our country! โค๏ธ๐
Yesterday we were so blessed to meet another furry friend! Meet Spencer's puppy Duke. He was so friendly and we adored him!
On Wednesday, we got to celebrate this wonderful boy! Happy birthday, Brayden!!! ๐๐๐

September 15, is National Dot Day in honor of Peter H. Reynolds story, "The Dot". We celebrated this special day be having Mrs. Stark's class join us for some fun Dot Day activities. We also participated in a STEM project of building a bridge with toothpicks and marshmallows; however, I believe a quarter of the marshmallows were consumed ๐ค๐๐ Lastly, Jackson and Adalyn won the "Citizenship" award for being amazing citizens of Wanamaker!
LJ and his orange cricket lollipop! ๐๐คข
Video 4 (last video) involves a race where students had to decide whether an item was trash, recyclable, or reusable.
Video 3 is of a worm race that was held at each table. Jackson's worm won at this table!
Video 2 is a trick Mrs. Hughes played on Adalyn. Sweet Adalyn, thought she was going to eat a dried mealworm, but it was a gummy worm instead! ๐คฃ๐
In this video, a handful of friends, along with Mr. Silsby (Addie's dad), ate dried mealworms. ๐คฎ
Squirmy Science brought a lot of rain, but a lot of new experiences! Friends got to eat mealworms, learn about insects and arachnids, worms and more worms, plus the importance of recycling. LJ even won an orange cricket lollipop and he was not shy to lick it all up! Despite the weather, my friends and volunteers adapted very well. Watch for some exciting videos!
This week, we started our first Science unit on Balances Forces. My friends got to work in groups to try and produce force with various objects. I was truly impressed with some of their methods for testing force! We also got to enjoy having Meghna read a super cute book to the class. Lastly, Asher presented his Wall of Fame project. He invented a pretty nifty device that projects the volume of a cell phone, while holding a phone. This device also allows friends from a party to hang their personal belongings. Asher made this all by himself. Very impressive! Watch out because knowing Asher, this might be the next best item on Etsy!
Red Rover was definitely the game to play for fun this Friday morning! In class, we have been learning about One Room Schoolhouses, so it was only fitting that we play a game from the past! With Mrs. Larson, my friends learned how to play marbles, and Mrs. Stark showed them how to play, "drop the hankie".
Today we celebrated this sweet girlie's birthday! ๐ฅณ๐๐ Happy Birthday, Reese!!! ๐๐๐
