New Milestone at Georgia’s Nuclear Plant Vogtle - energyfairness.org In past years, Energy Fairness has consistently reinforced the need for new nuclear construction in the U.S. as a way of meeting future energy demand and satisfying carbon emissions targets. One join us Thursday night at 5pm for an exciting seminar over Nuclear Energy, with our very own Dr. David Gattie.
Please join NAYGN in welcoming Kirk Sorensen. Sorensen is an expert in thorium reactor technology. After working for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and as Chief Nuclear Technologist for Teledyne Brown Engineering, Sorensen co-founded Flibe Energy in 2011. You can also find Sorensen quoted in the Guardian’s 2009 Manchester Report and in Wired Magazine. Additionally, Sorensen has been written about in the book SuperFuel and is credited in the documentaries Thorium Remix 2011, The Thorium Dream, and The Good Reactor.
The UGA Chapter of NAYGN is pleased to have Kirk Sorensen of Flibe Energy as the speaker for its first seminar of 2019. It's scheduled for Monday, January 14, at 5:00 PM in Driftmier Engineering Center on the UGA campus.
For those who have heard Kirk talk about thorium molten salt reactors, you know of Kirk's enthusiasm. For those who haven't, you won't be disappointed if you attend. I've spent time talking with Kirk about thorium reactors and am encouraged with the research at Flibe Energy. I'm also encouraged that this work has drawn the attention and support of the U.S. Department of Energy.
Please join us for what promises to be a great discussion about a timely and important issue.
