This is great news!

The Supreme Court just ruled 6-3 that New York’s regulations that made it difficult to obtain a license to carry a concealed handgun were unconstitutionally restrictive, and that it should be easier to obtain such a license.

The existing standard required an applicant to show "proper cause" for seeking a license, and allowed New York officials to exercise discretion in determining whether a person has shown a good enough reason for needing to carry a firearm. Stating that one wished to protect themselves or their property was not enough.

The Court's opinion also stated that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms should not be held to a lower standard than other constitutional rights.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

It's simple once you truly understand the role of Law Enforcement.

Did you hear? The "mag ban" over shadowed another bill that got passed. 1705 bans building (or rebuilding?) an "untraceable" firearm. But it goes further! By March 2023 you will no longer be able to possess that un-serialized firearm. Find a FFL that will serialize it for you.

But doesn't that law say ""Untraceable firearm" means any firearm manufactured after July 1, 2019, that is not an antique firearm and that cannot be traced by law enforcement by means of a serial number affixed to the firearm..."

Yes it does say that. So if you made your Firearm before July 2019 you don't own what is defined as an untraceable firearm.

A lot of bad situations can be easily avoided. Be humble, except the mistake (even if you didn't do it). Then just let it go, and have a good day.

Had a wonderful Saturday. Taught a few awesome women to be more confident with their fi****ms. Then had my son come out and shoot too. First time he shot unsupported and no help! So proud, and he did great remembering the safety rules.

While everyone is focused on ESSB 5078 in our legislature. Don't forget there are a few others we need to write our representatives about. Like ESHB 1705 Concerning Ghost Guns, or ESHB 1630 Establishing restrictions on the possession of weapons in certain locations. Both of these will also increase the restrictions of ownership and ability to carry for self defense.

Don't just write your representatives, you can sign in to comment on this bill and tell them you OPPOSE. Leave a comment, or if you can sign in to comment in the hearing. Write out a 1 minute statement why you oppose these horrible bills.

I think he watched the news over the weekend. Winter storms are all late this winter.

There are a plethora of fi****ms restriction legislation bills in both the State House and Senate. Some of these restrictions exempt LEO/Retired LEO. But what about Security Officers? They receive training and have to qualify for licenses.

But a better question is. Why do they get to be exempt? If it's dangerous for me to have more then 10 or 12 rounds in my magazine. I would think its dangerous for them as well.
