The 12th Executive Body of the Law Students’ Association is pleased to inform you that the sensitisation session with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) was successfully held on Friday, 20th June 2025 at the Law Faculty Seminar Room.

The exercise featured important presentations from representatives of the Commission on the African Charter, the mandate and functions of the ACHPR, and how individuals and communities can access the Commission for redress. Students also benefited from a guided overview of how to navigate the Commission’s media platforms and its research library, which is open for use by law students.

This engagement served as a vital reminder that human rights are not just studied, they must be lived, protected, and defended.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the ACHPR and thank all students who participated in the session.
