Unrelated to my products, but this was a real winner with brides when designing their wedding cakes, and I wanted to share the technique with you all!

Incredible hand piping by the gorgeous Vintique Cakes. So awesome to see what she can do with out Royal Icing Mix 💕

Work in progress….. Lockdown = time to get my piping skills back up to scratch. Loving how this design is working out. So many layers. Inspired by the incredible pastry chef, George Cox and his book “The Art of Confectionery “ published in 1901 . Royal icing thanks to Fondant thanks to Over the Top Piping tips by and using a 10” round.

Haute Couture Designer of Cakes

Caitlin Mitchell is an acclaimed international cake decorator hailing from Australia’s eastern capital, Brisbane. Caitlin is known not only for her innovative and intricate design work but for introducing the impressive, gravity defying Chandelier Cakes to Australia.

With an impressive arsenal of awards, Caitlin’s recent involvement in the International Cake Show saw her receive the esteemed Haute Couture Cake Design Award for 2018 and the Cake Decorator Award at this years Australia Bridal Industry Awards, an award she also received in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

For Caitlin the journey to cake decorating came at the age of 25 and in the form of Kristen Wigg or rather her character, Annie, in the hit rom-com Bridesmaids. It was a simple scene where Annie creates an exquisite cupcake which sparked a new romance for Caitlin. Inspired by the scene, Caitlin attended an introductory course at Merivale Cakes & Crafts in Toowoomba where it became clear that she had a flair for cake decorating and design.
