As a proud Garey Alumna I wanted to extended the invitation to fellow alumni for the Garey InvenTeam Patent Celebration this weekend. In 2017, a group of our students, including myself, applied to receive a grant from Lemelson-MIT to build a problem solving invention. We built the Heart & Sole, an at-home medical device aimed to monitor the health of a diabetic patients foot. As of June 2022, we received a patent for our invention and want to share this success with our community at our patent party hosted at Garey High School on September 17. Good way to see what our student have accomplished and will continue to accomplish through our legacies. (And there's free food!)

Another Alumni has left this Earth to join many friends who have gone on before. This one has hit hard as Mike was always a brother to me. He hung out with my sister's crowd and was part of the family. Joining the SNAFU Team in the sky...(if you know, you know)

I have to post this. Vicki use to work with my mother and was very close to her. She would call and pray with us during my mother's illness. Here she is at my mother's 80th birthday party. Beautiful as ever. Please give Mom our love and a great big hug for me.

Once again, I post with a heavy heart. We asked for prayer for Steve Jacas, but God had other plans. Rest easy our friend. So glad you made it to one of our picnics. It was so good to see you. RIP Steve Jacas. Class of 1977

So many of our childhood friends that we grew up with, may not have graduated from Garey, but they are still considered our Viking Brothers and Sisters. Gordon Harding went to Philadelphia, Simons, Garey and graduated from Ontario Christian High School in 1976. Last year at Garey was 1975, so here's to our fallen Viking. RIP Gordon Harding. You are remembered today and prayers are being lifted up for your family.

We have been notified of another fallen alumni. Unfortunately, he passed away in June and I am just now seeing the notice. Just wanting to reach out to all of our members here and ask that you keep all of our alumni in your prayers. As we are getting older, we are losing too many. Most of you already know that Doug Stout has recently had a heart attack and has undergone surgery, and had to evacuate due to a fire. Elia has confirmed that they are both home and she is taking care of him and he is making progress. Today, I have been told that Steve Jacas has also had a heart attack and is currently in the hospital.

Another Alumni has left this world, but what a mark he has left! Cornell Webster was voted the best looking in 1972 and one of the best in High School Football. He lived his life doing what he loved which was playing football, for the Seattle Seahawks and helping people. This was taken from Wikipedia:
~Also known as "The One and Only C.W.", Cornell has been a driving force in the community and society of his Oklahoma town as a family man and a model citizen. C.W. opened "The Fifty Yard Line", a homemade barbecue-style restaurant in which he applied his love for football. As of 2011 Cornell is a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK, Pastor Dr. Rodney A. Goss, where he is a devoted mentor to the youth (males). He has been a speaker of the brotherhood ministry and is loved by all. Mr. Webster also gives his time to underserved males (youth) in his community by providing football training sessions to those who cannot afford training from other places. He devotes his spare time to coaching Little League football, with The Boys Club of America. In addition to the Contributions in his community, Mr. Webster is in the process of opening transitional housing for female offenders, a much needed entity in Tulsa. These homes will be educational based and will also focus on reintegrating the female offender into society without reverting to unlawful behavior~
