Dear members and supporters,
You have probably noticed that we have changed the name of the page from UEA African Law Society to its new title: African Youth Development.
The new society was created with the aim of maximising the professional development of students of African heritage as well as those interested in African affairs, particularly those in Economics, Law, Politics, Business, Development and International Relations.
We will have events such as skills sessions, workshops, debates and networking opportunities. We have some great content coming up, so watch this space for updates and commercial awareness.
The UoM AYAL - Aspiring Young African Leaders Society is hosting a very interesting talk on the power of African Youth and their contribution to the continent. Tickets to the event are free but limited and can be found at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ayal-talks-the-africa-we-want-believes-in-youth-tickets-33189490660?utm-medium=discovery&utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&aff=estw&utm-source=tw&utm-term=listing
You can contact Lorena Cristiano if you'd like more information.
“AYAL Talks: The Africa We Want Believes in Youth” is scheduled for Friday, 5th May 2017 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, at the University of Manchester. The event aims at empowering and recognizing youth potential to drive change and development in our continent. The day will be marked by a discussion on the challenges and opportunities for young people within African countries as well as in the diaspora.
We are bringing together a diverse - in terms of age and level of experience - panel of bright and inspiring African minds, who have been doing amazingly both academically and professionally, to share their experiences (i.e. failures and successes), within a wide range of areas, to foster knowledge and inspiration to fellow young people, academics and African affairs’ enthusiasts.
PANELISTS:
