Check out Jenny Ford’s Step Across America series!!

The day has finally come! We can hardly believe it! Step Across America is ready for step lovers all around the world. https://stepacrossamerica.fit/ This unique step training program begins in Wyoming where we'll learn the foundational moves of step training. As we travel to each state, we'll build on the moves we've learned previously and continue to increase coordination, balance, strength, and memory all while learning fun new ways to keep our bodies continually moving with the rhythm and beat of the music.
Feel free to stay in a particular state for a few days, as you travel along your journey, especially if you're wanting a little more practice with some of the new moves introduced. This is your program and is meant to fit easily into what will work best for your fitness routine.
Massive thank you to each of you, the beautiful Freedom.Fit community who has stood by and supported us patiently awaiting the release of the Step Across America Program. Your support has meant everything to us all of these years, and especially through the heartache of losing our oldest son a year ago today.
Whether you're interested in a DVD for Step Across America, or the digital version, we've got you covered! Be sure to leave feedback about your experiences traveling across America. We're so very excited to hear what you think!

Step Aerobics Videos Choreography And Breakdowns - Step Ju**ie / Dana Darby 22/09/2021

Hi everyone! I had a small issue with my website, but I've gotten that fixed. Don't forget that there are hundreds of videos there, with breakdowns, for FREE! All levels of choreography... workout videos showing how I taught the choreography in a live class... heart-pumping drills... etc. http://stepjunkie.com

Instructor Training #5 25/05/2021

In this training video, Leslie discusses Move Equivalents. I love this, because once you understand the concept, it provides you so many benefits:

1) It is an easy way to give options to your classes.
2) It enables you to break down harder moves using easier ones.
3) It enables you to update your choreography a little bit at a time instead of all at once, but still give your combos a fresh feel and let your breakdown remain relatively the same... this is a huge time saver!

Move Equivalents use the same number of beats of music, have the same approach angle and exit angle, and have the same lead change (or not). In other words, they are like puzzle pieces that can be swapped out with each other and still work exactly right with surrounding pieces.

Instructor Training #4 25/05/2021

In this training video, Leslie goes over approach angles. This is vitally important for ensuring your choreography FLOWS. Every Step instructor should evaluate how every move in their planned class transitions to the next move by checking that the approach angle works. If one move ends with your body facing the side of the room, the next move cannot be a front-facing move. For example, you can't do a Basic Straddle and then a V-step. It doesn't work for your body positioning. You need to check both where your body is facing AND where your body is located in relation to the step in order to evaluate whether the approach angle is good. If you have to force any part of the move, then the approach angle doesn't work and you need to swap out one of the moves. Every transition should be NATURAL. At best, a poor approach angle just feels awkward, and at worst, it can lead to someone getting hurt. This is one of the best tips for offering beautiful, flowing, and safe choreography to your classes. Don't forget to check that the very last move of your class flows into the very first move, so that when you run it all together, that part works, too. Enjoy!

Instructor Training #3/Step Aerobics 14/05/2021

Leslie's Step Instructor Training #3. In this video, she discusses a "Scissor Over" and how to determine its Base Move. Determining Base Moves is the absolutely MOST IMPORTANT thing in your Step breakdown! Selecting the wrong Base Move may leave your class on the wrong leg or on the wrong side of the step. So, it's good to know how to select the right one. Enjoy!

Instructor Training #2/ Step Aerobics 12/05/2021

This is Leslie's Instructor Training #2. In this video, she shows a simple combination of moves and shows how to break down choreography that ends on the opposite side of the step, starting with the Base Moves and progressing through a couple of layers to reach the final choreography.

Instructor Training #1 12/05/2021

Leslie's Step Instructor Training #1 - In this video, Leslie helps you understand the most common Base Move: The Basic., and WHY it is the Base Move for other moves. Base Moves are your building blocks for all other choreography and are the most important part of your breakdown. Starting with the correct Base Move will ensure your breakdown works!

Instructor Training #1 11/05/2021

I hope all of my Step instructor friends will check out this series that Leslie is doing. She can break down even that trickiest of moves in a way that keeps the class moving. There's no half-time moves to let the heart rate plummet, there's a built-in regression for people who can't get (or don't like) the final move, and there's no need to preview moves ahead of class. I never previewed moves because I always wanted my choreography to be fresh and new to the class when I presented it, and previewing would be the equivalent of telling people what their present was before they opened it.
