Today was so much fun! Thank you for teaching us how to make these awesome Rice Krispie surprise Easter eggs! Tami LOVES them!!! ❤️ We left ours in the “mold” cause our marshmallow was still too warm.

We had a great time at our Annual Holiday Party at Chef of the House! Chef Kathleen Roussel really knows how to make an amazing brunch!! We did painting with a twist and then a Nailed It! Cupcake Challenge. Winner: Naila! So much fun had by all.

Ever wonder how to blanch vegetables without ruining their texture? Put the vegetables in a blanching basket then lower into boiling water. Place a lid on blancher. Water should return to boiling within approximately 1 minute, or you are using too much vegetables for the amount of that boiling water. Be sure to start counting blanching time as soon as the water returns to a boil. 🥕

One of our favorite local businesses is hosting a Farm to Table dinner event and our own Chef Tate is one of the featured Chefs. It’s going to be an amazing night, hope you can join us!

Our relationship with Chef Tate and his students at Clear Springs High School was completely unexpected while at the same time one of the most rewarding experiences of the last year. We met at the Texas Gourmet Farmer’s Market in League City.

Tate is the Culinary Arts Teacher of some truly talented young adults. His students have an incredible kitchen to practice their craft in. Nick and I were able to donate microgreens and edible flowers once a month for the students multi-course meal in Clear Springs High School’s Bistro Urbana. Chef Tate and the students spend a month deciding on a theme, then carefully crafting each dish for the meal. It truly is a 5 star experience you would never expect.

When we were trying to decide who we would want to represent On the Acre at our Outstanding dinner, Chef Tate and the students kept coming to mind. After reaching out to Tate, he said he would love to take part, and would be able to bring 3 students as well to continue their education with us!

The time has come for us to make a bittersweet announcement. Our Chef of the House physical location will be closing it’s doors permanently as we redirect focus to our virtual platform, virtual cooking club, private in-home classes and on-location private events. To preserve the long-term stability of our business, we have had to make this difficult decision. Due to the effects of COVID-19 on the world, we have come to realize it’s likely that our industry will be forever changed.

We want to embrace these changes and focus on the future. Chef of the House will still be here! Although we are saddened we will not be able to enjoy providing in-person group classes to all of you, we are equally as excited to use our virtual platform to reach aspiring chefs beyond Texas, across the US and around the globe. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Your support with our efforts here will be incredibly appreciated during this transitional time for us. We are incredibly blessed to be a part of this community - that is not changing!

We are treating this change as an opportunity to serve you and our community in a new way - a safe way.

We sincerely thank you for your business and support over the years and we are excited to continue to serve you in this new chapter in the Chef of the House journey! ♥️

We regret to inform you that we had to cancel this year’s Summer Camps due to the uncertainty with the Covid-19 outbreak.
Due to the nature of our hands classes, we do not feel comfortable opening the doors to our cooking camps, just yet.

This was a very tough decision, but one that had to be made in the ongoing efforts to keep your children and our employees safe. With so much uncertainty, we feel this is the best course of action.

It is never easy to disappoint our families, but we take comfort in knowing that we will continue to cook with you this summer, from coast to coast via our Kids Cooking Club.

We love our summer camps and will be back to cook up more fun in 2021!
