Our music student teacher Mr. Sirna lead Mrs. Henderson's class in a game of "Swat the Fly" today! Students listened to 4-beat patterns using Mi, Re and/or Do and had to "swat" the correct pattern first. Great job friends!
Attention 5th grade parents and families:
Percussion Auditions are TODAY, Tuesday, April 6th!!!
This event is only for current 5th grade students who are interested in playing percussion next year. All other students will be finding out their instrument placement in the next week or two.
Event is from 3:50-6:00 PM in the HMS Cafeteria
Please enter through the front doors. Masks must be properly worn and each family should attempt to maintain 6ft social distancing. Auditions should take approx. 5 minutes per student.

The following email went out to current 5th grade parents yesterday and has important information about band events coming up. Here it is:
Good afternoon!
We have some very important dates coming up for any current 5th grader who is interested in joining Band at HMS next year! Please put the following dates on your calendar:
1- Recruitment for all Pods - Tuesday, March 23rd
This will take place during specials classes during the school day. Virtual students are encouraged to join us in person in the McEowen gym from 9:10-9:55 am.
2- Percussion Auditions - April 6th 3:50-6:00pm
Any student interested in playing percussion must audition for a spot since there are a limited number of percussionists accepted into 6th grade band. More information, including audition sign-ups, will be coming soon!
3- Band Enrollment/Rental Night - April 20th 3:50-6:00pm
Students who would like to be part of 6th grade band will sign their enrollment form and Meyer Music will be available to rent instruments if your family doesn't already own one.
