Established in 1969, the UCI Farm School was a unique learning environment. It was a beloved place. Please share your memories.
Instead of desks we had goats, instead of school bells we had conch horns, instead of grade levels we had shapes.

Latest photos from the school property showing the little kids, big kids, and main administration houses. So sad to see them boarded up. I spoke with a gentleman guarding the property and he seemed to think they may be set for demolition. Or, he thought there was some talk of preservation and restoration.???

A small preliminary group of us are planning a reunion in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Farm School. Our first priority is to fill in the gaps in contact information so we can reach out with updates, reunion details, and volunteer opportunities with both the Farm School reunion and historical preservation of the land and buildings. We would like to collect contact information for all students, parents, teachers, undergrads and other people who were involved with the Farm School.

Farm School founder and early campus administrator dies | School of Social Sciences | UCI Social Sciences Michael Butler, social sciences professor emeritus and dean emeritus of undergraduate studies at UCI, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, of complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was 81.
