IMPORTANT UPDATE: SacrAmerica History Trivia Night Postponed Until Mid-April!
Unfortunately, due to another rainy weather forecast, we are postponing trivia night until mid-April. We are trying our best to ensure that this will not happen again. By pushing the event to a Wednesday evening in mid-April, we hope to have a higher probability of accurate weather predictability and a warmer evening as well.
We will announce a new date for trivia night after April 1st, when we have a much higher probability of good weather conditions.
To those of you who purchased tickets, you may request a refund or retain your tickets for the new date in April. Please contact [email protected] if you would like a refund.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this "weather delay" has caused. Thank you for your understanding and continuing support of SHS.

This view of Downtown Sacramento from the Waterworks building (the location of the Sacramento History Museum today) was made around 1907. Why is it blue? It’s a type of photographic process called a cyanotype, which is similar to an architectural blueprint. Photo paper is coated with an iron-based mix of chemicals, a photographic negative is placed on top it, and then the photo paper and negative are exposed to light. The blue appears where light penetrates through the negative.
This is one of several cyanotypes of Sacramento scenes that came from an album that belonged to Emma Tubbs who lived at 2414 J Street. Her handwriting is seen on the label at the bottom of the photo. Mrs. Tubbs’ husband, Henry, once worked as a printer, and likely had the skills necessary for creating cyanotype prints.
