🌟 Spotlight on Timi Famojuro🌟

We’re proud to feature Timi Famojuro in our campaign.

Timi, a successful entrepreneur and Middlesex alumnus reflects on how his time at MDX was key to shaping his journey.

Timi recounts his growth at MDX and how the sense of community shaped his experience: “When I first came to Middlesex, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Today, I run multiple businesses turning over £400,000 with a property portfolio valued at £3.3 million. The sense of community I built during my time at MDX was crucial—having focused friends around me helped me during tough times. I remember studying all night with a friend right before an exam, and that support made all the difference.”

He adds, “Being part of the Christian Union was the highlight of my uni experience, and I’d encourage students to join societies to meet like-minded people. I also have fond memories of being part of one of the first groups to hold a concert in the Quadrangle after it was opened. Middlesex played a big part in shaping who I am today, both personally and professionally.”

Timi’s journey shows the value of building strong relationships and seizing opportunities during university.

🌟 Spotlight on G Fatimah Ali🌟

We’re proud to feature G Fatimah Ali in our campaign. Fatimah, an inspiring alumna of Middlesex University Dubai, shares how the experiences and support she received at MDX helped her excel in senior leadership roles and thrive as a single-mother British expat.

In her own words, “After completing my master's with distinction and receiving the highest grade in my cohort of 2021, I confidently pursued a career in senior leadership. In 2023, I successfully applied for the position of Vice Principal, and I strongly believe that my learning and experiences at MDX contributed to my ability to thrive in this role. Middlesex Dubai also nominated me for a Golden Visa, which I am deeply honoured to receive.”

Fatimah continues by discussing her personal journey: “Living and working in a foreign country as a single-mother British expat was daunting, but MDX Dubai, my supervisors, and lecturers provided a stable platform that propelled me from uncertainty to the confident leader I am today.”

Fatimah’s journey shows how hard work, perseverance, and the support of a university community can help overcome challenges and turn dreams into reality.

We’re delighted to feature Jihan Hanna in our campaign. Jihan, an alumna of Middlesex University Dubai, reflects on how her education at MDX shaped her understanding of workplace culture, which she now applies in her current role at Keller Williams Realty-New Mexico.

Speaking about her time at MDX, she shares: “The best moments of my life were during my education at Middlesex University-Dubai. One of the most valuable lessons I learned was about culture—it’s essential to believe that for any organisation to thrive, a strong, positive culture is the key.”

Jihan then shares how this understanding of culture applies to her current role at Keller Williams Realty-New Mexico: “We work with this principle in mind. Our 'Why' is to create the best possible environment for all of us to work in, which will enrich us emotionally, professionally, and financially."

Jihan’s story shows how education goes beyond academics, teaching us the values that guide both professional and personal success.

We are delighted to feature Kevin Wong in our campaign. Kevin, a Middlesex University alumnus working in the financial sector, reflects on how his time at MDX helped him develop the problem-solving skills that have been essential in his career.

Kevin shares, “I work across financial capital markets, investment, retail banking, and risk management, providing solutions for businesses with complex challenges. My scope of work is broad, from project management to technical implementations, and my experience has been shaped by both strategic and hands-on work. My time at MDX played a key role in developing the problem-solving skills and knowledge I apply daily in my work.”

He adds, “Just because you’re not directly using the education you pursued doesn’t mean it was wasted. It all comes back in ways you might not expect, shaping your future in different ways.”

In her own words, “Middlesex gave me confidence, a sense of professionalism, and the ability to diversify. I have a book out in October, From WHAM! To Woo - A Life on the Mic, and I dedicate a large section of my memoir to Trent Park’s BAPA course. It was life-changing for me and laid the foundations for being a professional.”

We’re excited to feature Rathish Baskaran in our campaign. Rathish, a proud alumnus of Middlesex University, reflects on how his time at MDX played a key role in his career journey.

Rathish shares, “When it comes to my career journey, Middlesex University provided me with a solid foundation in a chosen field through rigorous coursework and an up-to-date curriculum. There is a strong emphasis on practical and hands-on learning experiences such as labs, workshops, and projects, which equipped me with the skills required to forge a career path in the technology sector. I also took the time to attend career fairs and guest lectures, which allowed me to connect with industry experts and other students as part of my professional network.”

Rathish’s story highlights the comprehensive and practical education Middlesex offers. “By completing a computer science degree at the bachelor’s level,” he continues, “I had numerous opportunities to delve into specialized areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning, and data analytics, aligning with current industry demands. I managed to complete a final-year dissertation project that enabled me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, demonstrating my capabilities to potential employers. Finally, being part of an active alumni network has been invaluable, providing mentorship, job leads, and professional connections.”

We’re delighted to feature Roxie Key in our campaign. Roxie, a talented alumna of Middlesex University, has a journey that truly demonstrates the transformative power of education and determination.

Roxie shares, "I learned so much at Middlesex University - not only about the craft of creative writing, but also how to stick to a big project, thanks to my dissertation! The course allowed me to explore so many types of creative writing - journalism, poetry, travel writing, screenwriting, biographical writing, and a mix of different fiction genres. I finally settled on crime fiction, and I'm excited to say I'm now a published thriller author with HarperCollins.

If my story has taught me anything, it's to persevere. Spend time figuring out what your 'thing' is. Ten years ago, I'd never even read crime fiction, and now I'm writing it! My advice for any aspiring writers is this: spend time honing your craft. Read lots, and not just your favorite genres. Don't be afraid to share your writing with others... or too proud to take on board their feedback. You've got this!"
