What a weekend!! A joy to learn from all my fellow choir leaders and some top industry professionals. What a privilege to be on the same line up and lead my own workshop, sharing my love of folk music and taking the art of sharing music back to its roots, finding harmonies and enjoying singing with a supportive community. Thank you as always for your belief and trust! 💕
Happy start of Spring everyone!!! 🌸🌼🪻🌷 I for one am looking forward to more outdoor time and some warm weather 🤞🏼 Also, this little hand in mine 🥹 I can’t cope!

OFF GRID - Out of Office is on until Wednesday 2nd August and oh it feels so good! I love my job, but I’ve needed this. A week of Gary, the camper.
A year ago I stood on this very stage and asked if people in MK might be interested in a musical theatre choir. Roll on a year and I’m stood on the same stage conducting 30 people in a musical theatre choir! Sometimes you have to just stop for a moment and appreciate the journey you’ve been on!
Thank you to my lovely members for trusting and believing in me! I love our choir family! ❤️

Happy Belated Easter everyone! 🐣🐰🍫
I’ve had a lovely couple of days away from my laptop in the Cumbrian fresh air!
Lovely to see some production stills from Darlint Peidi. I really have developed a great deal of empathy for Edith’s story and although it’s not a cheery subject matter, I do love giving her a voice in 2023 (100 years on from her death) 💕
What a feeling to be back on stage last night after 6 years off!!! I just had to count that and I can’t quite believe it’s been that long since I last had a pro job! To be able to totally immerse myself in a character, and one as interesting as Edith Thompson, has been hugely rewarding and I’m so grateful to The Play's The Thing Theatre Company for believing in my abilities. I’m very excited to bring my Edith to The Place, Bedford, tonight. Who’s joining us there?
It’s Friday, it’s sunny, I’ve gymed and I’m off to choir… 😄 currently ignoring the admin I have to do this afternoon… looking forward to seeing some lovely students though.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas 🎄
CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 to one of my students, who just went and got himself a music scholarship at Monmouth School for Boys! This is us at his LAMDA Music Theatre exam last Christmas, and although I’ve missed teaching him as much this term, I’m proud we got to work on his scholarship audition together in half term. Well done you superstar 🌟
Squad goals! ✨
Walking towards a very festive weekend like… ✨✨✨
But first, time to 12 Days of Christmas with the 3rd Year students! 🕊️🍐🌳
What a privilege to spend a beautiful evening singing Amazing Grace with at the church where that song was first heard 250 years ago! ✨As an extra treat, the incredible came and joined in with us.
I cannot describe how special it is to be a part of this beautiful choir. I feel extremely privileged to get to spend my time with such lovely, diverse and kind human beings 💕
They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old. ❤️
It was an absolute privilege to sing with my fellow TGI choir members at the MK Rose this morning for Remembrance Day. May we remember them.
Home after an absolutely manic weekend at Super Convention in Liverpool! So proud of these superstars and .emmadawson for repping with their fabulous vocals! Holding a whole number when there’s other music and songs going on in the exhibition hall at the same time is no easy feat, and they smashed it!
1 Year ago today I got to marry my soulmate for the second time ✨ Does this mean we get two anniversaries forever now?

One of my childhood passions, other than singing, was football. I went with my Dad most weekends to watch Sheffield United and probably gained a lot of confidence ‘belting’ from singing football songs on the terraces. In fact, I vividly remember finding more and more confidence each week to sing that little bit louder to show my support, until I was fully letting go and letting my voice soar. It maybe wasn’t pretty, but it didn’t feel painful/restricted and was full of passion. I often find students who are scared to use a full sound in their songs and in Britain, children (and adults) are often told to be quiet. We’re told that shouting is bad. Finding that thick fold, big belty set up can feel daunting.
Whilst watching the fabulous Euros last night in Milton Keynes, it occurred to me that perhaps as singers we can find a lot of confidence in our voices belting out chants from the terraces. Come on you Lionesses on Sunday! 🦁 I’ll be singing at my TV in full voice.
Strolling into the first week of the school holidays like… ✌🏼
My first year as a member of the Dancebox Studios & Theatre Works college faculty has been a dream! Working with the amazing fellow teachers and seeing these girls grow in confidence vocally has been so rewarding. I can’t wait to see what next year brings… but first… I need a break 😴🍹
Posted • Give it up for our amazing vocalists who sang their absolute hearts out at our Summer Showcase 🤩👏 For some it was their first time singing on stage in front of an audience! You did us so proud, girls 🎶
