Traditions Weekend

While the situation around the COVID-19 outbreak is evolving every day, we are taking additional proactive measures that will protect our W&M community, on and off campus. We are guided by these four goals:

- Support our students, faculty and staff and keep them healthy,
- Ensure students can complete their classes,
- Maintain the university’s operations and commitments, and
Join in the national effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

In light of these goals, discussions with healthcare experts and the CDC’s most recent recommendations, the university has released policies (https://www.wm.edu/news/announcements/2020/message-from-president-katherine-a.-rowe-wms-covid-19-response.php) to safeguard our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. These include canceling all university events through April 3. Some may be rescheduled or conducted virtually. We will reassess by April 1 and will keep you updated of any changes. In the meantime, please refer to our COVID-19 webpage (https://www.wm.edu/about/administration/emergency/current_issues/coronavirus/index.php) for more information and a Q&A.

Wishing you a peaceful holiday season filled with warmth, meaning and happy memories. Season's greetings from our family to yours.

Now that Thanksgiving is over and you can look beyond leftovers, travel plans and doorbuster sales, celebrate Giving Tuesday with William & Mary. In the last two years, 485 donors have collectively contributed nearly $55,000 to more than 100 different causes at W&M on Giving Tuesday.

Two such projects were a gift to the Gates Library Fund, which helps Earl Gregg Swem Library acquire and maintain materials relating to national security, defense and international relations, and a gift given to the Stanley Women in Business Programs Endowment, which supports women students at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business.

[03/24/17]   One Tribe One Day is next week on March 28! Mark your calendar!

I was back on campus last weekend and saw Millington for myself. Crazy to see it coming down.

For 48 years, Millington Hall has stood on William & Mary’s campus — housing research facilities, classrooms, faculty offices, the biology and psychology departments, a greenhouse and much more. As it is in the process of being demolished to become the future home of the fourth Integrated Science Center (ISC4), #WMAlumni reflect on their favorite Millington memories on The Gale: https://wmalumni.com/get-informed/gale/2017/millington-memories.html
