New Personal Mobile Device and Social Media Policies

Effective September 1, 2024, the use of personal mobile devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches will be strictly regulated during instructional time in all Wolf Creek Public Schools.

This admin procedure is intended to enhance education in the classroom, promote responsible use of technology, and ensure the privacy and security of everyone in our schools.
During instructional periods, personal mobile devices must be powered off or set to silent mode and stored out of view. Exceptions to this rule may be granted by school administrators for specific educational purposes, health-related reasons, or other circumstances deemed appropriate. Additionally, access to all social media sites will be restricted on the school network and devices to support a focused learning environment.

Expected Actions

Students: We know how important staying connected is, but we also believe in making the most of our time in the classroom. Once the first bell rings, PMDs must be turned off and are to only be used during non instructional time such as breaks, and before and after school. We trust that you’ll help us create the best learning environment possible by following these procedures. Failure to adhere may result in disciplinary action as outlined in our updated procedures. If students wish to access social media during non instructional times, they will have to do so on their own data plans.

Staff: Our staff will lead by example, using PMDs only for operational and instructional purposes during teaching periods. PMDs may be carried by staff for emergencies and necessary communication amongst school staff and administration.

Parents: Your support in reinforcing these guidelines is vital. Please help us by ensuring that students understand the importance of these rules and encourage them to keep their devices in a secure place during the school day. We realize families have become accustomed to real-time communication between students and parents, and this will be an adjustment.

Please know students will have the ability to check their devices for messages, etc., during regular break periods throughout the day. As always parents can always call the school to have messages shared with students. By working together, we can ensure that our students have the best possible environment to learn and grow.

Communication and Education

To ensure everyone is well-informed, we will be offering resources to help students, parents, and staff adjust to these new policies. Principals will also communicate school-specific guidelines and discipline plans to all students and parents. We value your involvement and feedback during this transition.

As most of you know Clive School is working hard to raise funds to construct a new and desperately needed playground at the school. Due to a grant falling through they need to raise $125,000! We would like to come together as a soccer community and show our support by hosting an online auction with proceeds to go to the playground fundraiser.

We are collecting items now until August 15th (longer if needed) and hope to run the auction online via Facebook from the 17th-21st.

If you have an item or service you wish to donate OR want to sponsor an item with a monetary donation please reach out! Anything goes!

Items can be dropped off in Clive any day, or get in touch with us to make other arrangements, we are happy to work to get your donations from you.

$1292 for a new playground at Clive School all thanks to YOU!

Jennifer Young and April Perry stepped up to the Burger of the Month Guest Chef challenge, creating "The Comet Burger" to help raise funds to replacing aging playground equipment at Clive School.

They even helped arrange a hot lunch Comet Burger delivery to the school to help raise some additional cash!

Thanks to YOUR support of our beloved Burger of the Month Program we continue to be able to support worthy causes in our community, we've given back more than $165,000!

Thank you to a fantastic team of volunteers our old playground has been removed. Getting ready for the new one come August!

Thank you for your support at our BBQ during Fun Fest! We raised $1300!

In addition, we had left over pre-cooked hamburgers, hot dogs, and buns.

We have decided to donate those items to the Food Bank in Clive and give back to the community who has generously given so much to us to get our playground built.

These items are available at the food bank to be picked up this Wednesday June 26 between 5 - 7 pm.

Let's ensure these delicious items don't go to waste! See you there! 💙

Tomorrow is Fun Fest! We look forward to seeing everyone at our hamburger and hot dog sale tomorrow starting at 11:30. $5 for hamburger and a drink; $3 for hot dog and a pop; $1 for pop or water.
