I get a lot of people complaining that gym workout leads to back pain. Here are 6 exercises that every gym goer must do.
Is cardio more important for fat loss?
This is an evergreen question and let’s talk about it.
The first principle of fat loss is a caloric deficit. No matter what diet you follow, what macros you have but if you are not in caloric deficit fat loss is not happening.
Let’s take an example of someone who needs 2000 calories to maintain his/her weight. If this person creates a deficit of 300-500 calories per he/she will start losing fat.
To create this deficit you can either
1. Eat 500 cals less
2. Burn 500 cals on treadmill
3. Burn 500 cals by doing weight training
Now the question is
“Is cardio better than weight training for fat loss?”
Well technically yes, if you do cardio for one hour vs weight training for one hour, you would burn more calories doing cardio.
But with weight training, the advantage is you would be building more muscle which is going to increase your metabolic rate which means your body gets a chance to burn more calories even at rest.
With the above example, you can Eat 200 cals less in your diet, burn 100-150 cals on the treadmill and 300 cals by doing weight training.
The best way to lose fat is to use all the tools available to you and not just rely on one!
