Don’t forget tomorrow is the bake sale!

On December 18 we will be holding a bake sale before and after the Christmas Concert. This will raise money to send all of the 4-6 grade students who qualify to the Weather and Science game at the Colorado Rockies! We need your help in two ways- first can you help provide us with baked goods? Any donations can be dropped off at the office before or after school on December 18. Miss Green and 6th Grade will handle setting up the sale. Second, plan to purchase a treat at the concert that night please!

The Revere Robotics team has worked incredibly hard since August, but put in extra double time this week. They gave practice presentations to preschool, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades and did lots of extra work during recess and other times. Tomorrow they will compete with other teams to show off their research and innovation projects and compete on the table with their robots, Storm and Jimmy Dude! Good luck tomorrow at the St. Vrain Regional Tournament Raiders, we are SO proud of you!

Yesterday we held our 3rd annual Math Trick or Treat! Students solved math problems in class for the right to visit staff members all over the school. They used a black light pen to reveal invisible ink to find out if the staff member would give them a treat or a trick (silly string)! Lots of practice problems got done and lots of laughs were heard all over the school!

4-6 grade has spent several weeks working on an extra special project. These lighted towers will be centerpieces for tables at the Colorado Gifted and Talented conference next week. Students from rural schools all over the state were invited to share something about where they lived. Revere students brainstormed things they love about where we live, then used computer aided design to create squares showing some of their favorite things. This involved a lot of work designing and learning how to use all the controls to bring their designs to life! We printed their work on our 3D printer. We are so proud of how these turned out!

Another great day! First day of Lego Robotics started with building all the missions we need for our robot table. Multiple hundreds of pages of instructions and so many pieces! Everybody worked very hard!

We’re back! 4 and 5 had their first day of math today- they both saved Fred the gummy worm from drowning and did a silly quiz about the years 1975, 1986, and 1999- feel free to guess why those years! 4th grade also did the 100 challenge and 5th grade gave some directions to help their partners draw. We spent a lot of time talking about what things help us to solve problems.
We also had our first day of STEAM class for 3, 4, and 5 today (6 will be next week!). We talked about the Engineering Design Process and built a tower to hold an apple. Lots of testing, failing, and testing again! We are really looking forward to this class this year and are hoping to partner with some community members on some new projects!

Final coding and building are in process now on the two sumo bots. We will go live here (internet allowing!) at 1:00 for the battle!

Love when students go home and continue learning!! Zoriah built her 3d print rocket ship a full lunar landing base and painted it in glow in the dark paint!

Day 4-

3d printing made more awesome designs! We got a few more printed. We will keep printing in the coming weeks and get designs delivered as soon as possible!

Robotics worked hard on their sumo projects! I have no videos to show you today and very little to say because I’ve been sworn to absolutely secrecy by both teams. Top secret plans even went so far as to hide their bots inside boxes so the other team couldn’t see. Their defense and offense plans are VERY impressive! Me to both teams, “You’re kind of terrifyingly good at this. If robots take over the school I’ll know who to talk to.”
Them, “Oh don’t worry, once we set them off we will flee the school…”

We will go live here tomorrow at 1:00 for the epic last day battle!
