Pope Francis's Five-Finger Prayer for Kids.
Last night I had dinner with two friends and their children, ages 13, 10 and 7. The youngest one taught me "Pope Francis's Prayer," which I had never heard of. He showed me a little laminated card with a wonderful prayer that uses the five fingers to help children pray. The card noted that this prayer probably predated Pope Francis (and I would suspect it does) but that he often used it with children when he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires.
Wherever it came from, it's a great prayer for kids--and adults. I've found a few versions on the web and edited them a bit.
1. The thumb: The thumb is the closest finger to you. So start praying for those who are closest to you. They are the persons easiest to remember--your family and your friends. To pray for the people we love is a "sweet obligation."
2. The next finger is the index finger. Pray for those who teach you, instruct you and heal you. They need the support and wisdom to show direction to others. Always keep them in your prayers.
3. The following finger is the tallest. It reminds us of our leaders: the presidents, kings, governors, mayors, and all those who have authority. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is the ring finger. Even though it may surprise you, this is the weakest of all your fingers. It should remind us to pray for the weakest, the sick, the poor, or those who face many problems. They need your prayers.
5. Finally you have your smallest finger--the smallest of them all. Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. When you are finished praying for the other four groups, you will be able to see your own needs, but in the right perspective, and also you will be able to pray for your own needs in a better way.
Amen!

The SANAG Girls Club is a club for Akeanon girls that aims to provide opportunities for growth in personal and social responsibility and equip the young women of the community to become better citizens of tomorrow.
It was a fruitful and enlightening day for the Sanag girls. We had the story of “ Jesus, friend of the children”; they learned about the person of St. Joseph; and in time for Lent, they were encouraged to list and try to do mortification as their love offering to Jesus. Most of the girls had a chat with Manang Den on how they can improve in their prayer and love for Jesus. Praise God for this afternoon.

Girls were taught the virtue, Order.
In exercising order, we will find it easier to do or make something. When we look around us, we see order in nature. 🌿
The sun rises daily in the East and sets in the West. 🌞 God designed the world with His divine wisdom and any disorder will lead to violation of the design.
For Arts and Crafts, Sanag girls learned how to wrap a present. 🎁 And learned how to cook Turon for their snacks. It was indeed a fruitful day for the girls. Facilitators: Ate Den, Ate Cherry, Tita Monette, Tita Rikka and Tita Sumra. 🌸
