FRIENDSHIP DAY – ASSEMBLY GRADE 8

5th August 2023

Grade 8 students hosted a unique assembly on Friendship Day – Theme ” Say No to Friendship Band
“on Saturday 5/8/23. The assembly began with the prayer followed up by the thought for the day
based on Friendship.

A group of students performed a talk show on how to celebrate Friendship Day spectacularly by
cherishing the bond.

Students briefed on how to celebrate it differently and meaningfully. They shared the qualities of
legendary friends. A few examples from Epics were cited like Karna & Duruyodhna & Krishna and
Sudhama. The Talk show ended with a powerful message ” Say No to Friendship Band”. This show
was an eye-opener for the students, who waste money and time in making such bands. Ms. Jaya
addressed the students and appreciated their efforts. The assembly came to an end with the
National Anthem.

Global Tiger Day 2023 will be celebrated with a common goal to raise awareness about tiger extinction and the need to save.

“The tiger is a symbol of beauty, strength, and nationality so save the Tiger and save our nation's pride.” Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation. It is observed on 29 July each year.

The day aims to build a worldwide system that will be dedicated to protecting tigers and their natural habitats. A safe and thriving habitat for tigers means that we conserve other species and our forests, too. Through International Tiger Day we can work for a future where humans and tigers can cohabit peacefully.

Trip

LMW Site

The primary aim of an Educational Trip is to gather geographical details. Reinforcing experiential and relational learning is the key goal of conducting an Educational Trip for students. Educational Trips are a way of improving learning in the classroom by creating links to the real world. Field trips introduce students to diverse lifestyles, locations, and eras.

We at Kikani strongly believe that practical learning helps students learn more effectively. A student's ability to grasp an idea is enhanced more by doing than by hearing about it.

The school had arranged an Industrial visit for grade 6 students to Kinathukadavu, a Windmill project site. Teachers and students started from school at 9 am and reached the site at 10 am. The project centre was located properly at Vadachitur, a small village near kinathukadavu.

We had a warm welcome by the officials. The site was amazing, the huge windmill at the centre is 94 metres in length and each wind blade length is 45 metres. The Engineers explained the working of windmill and the energy produced in turn and had a good interaction with our curious Kikanians. Students were grouped 40 per team and then taken to visit the windmill in close. Students were excited to see the working of windmill in close and they were clarifying their doubts regarding the windmill project. The officials also were very happy to explain the process and the production of energy through the project. We had a great time there, the visit was very informative. Students were able to know about the renewable energy-"Wind Energy" and how we can make use of it for our country's sustainable development.

Social events develop social skills and empathy, the outward-oriented dimensions of emotional intelligence. The interactions or conversations elicited by events help students build relationships, understand different perspectives, and engage other cultures.

This teaches them about their roots in the world and makes them proud of their country and culture. It is during festivals when stories of the past come forward to teach children about the past and help them understand the importance of celebration through generations.

Christmas is here.... The season of love and joy and what a way to end our fab 2022..... Carols, Santa, Shepherds, Animals, Mary, Joseph and of course Baby Jesus were here to bless us for a great year ahead.
