Another wonderful review from a previous workshop. So appreciated.

“Dear Jonnie: I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with your Teen Etiquette Seminar. Both of my teens attended and found it informative, enjoyable, and educational. The setting was truly professional, while at the same time, comfortable and elegant. Everything was well-organized and both of my kids loved the marinated grilled pork roast as part of their four course dinner. I would highly recommend your services to anyone who wishes to improve upon their social, business and/or dining skills. You are making a difference! “ ~ Michael Burke, DDS

You see…High Tea…is not at 3. 😊Many mistakenly use this term for a fancy tea. High Tea is not a “fancy tea or Ritz Hotel Afternoon Tea”…it is evening tea…with heavier foods.…see the reason for “High Tea” below.

From my dear friend in Texas, we rarely find a really good proper place setting, so I wanted to share.

Etiquette tip:

Know your utensil positions when dining. Never hang utensils off the side of the plate. Once utensils have touched the plate and/or food, no part of them should touch the table again.

Our Story

Jonnie Fox Flanagan was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana where she enjoyed exquisite dining at famous and fabulous restaurants such as Brennans, Arnauds, Commander’s Palace, Emeril’s, and the original Ruth’s Chris Steak House during her 37 years in the South before moving to southern California.

Ms. Flanagan founded The Magnolia School of Etiquette and Protocol in 2010 to offer the art of fine dining, good manners, and the social civilities that enhance our society with kindness and graciousness. Workshops have included private consultation to brides, business professionals, individuals, university etiquette dinners, corporate conferences, and group workshops for children ages 5+.

Her current focus is helping children from 6-12 years old learn how to properly engage in social and dining environments by using a variety of methods from role play, crafts, handouts, a Study Guide, and artistically dressed tablescapes that encourage cultural enlightenment.

Classes are taught at Villa La Rocca, her private residence, nestled in the northeast foothills of San Diego County 15 minutes south of the Temecula Wine Valley.
