I am honoured to have received an award from NUGS - National Union of Ghana Students . The award which was officially announced at the 54th handing over and 55th Swearing-in ceremony of NUGS held on June 29, 2021, was officially presented to me at a short ceremony on Monday August 2, 2021. This is in recognition of the sterling contributions the team at National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) led by myself continue to make as regulators of all Pre-Tertiary Schools in Ghana.

According to the delegation from NUGS, led by the immediate past President, Isaac Jay Hyde, at a time when the educational sector of the country has seen a skyrocketing number of institutions, our work at NaSIA, has been very crucial in ensuring that such institutions work in accordance with the highest levels of standards. He believes this has been a key contributing factor in the general rise of educational standards we are currently seeing and a feat worth celebrating.

On my part, I expressed gratitude for the honour and reiterated my commitment as well as that of NaSIA to continue outdoing ourselves in ensuring that the educational sector meets the best of standards.

I had the privilege to grace the 27th National Conference of the Ghana National Association Of Private Schools - GNAPS as the Guest of Honour on Wednesday, 18th August 2021 at the GNAT Hall in Cape Coast.

The conference which was themed ‘Private Schools in the Post-COVID-19 era, strategizing for renewed growth’ saw the participation of various stakeholders such as School Proprietors, Parents, among others.

In addressing the participants, I commended School Proprietors for implementing innovative ways of virtual teaching that reduced learning losses during the closure of schools in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

I reiterated that the Government appreciates the contribution of the private education providers and I look forward to engaging with all Private School Associations in the hopes of ensuring a better and fruitful relationship in the interest of the Ghanaian child.

I again affirmed that NaSIA is committed and working assiduously to ensure that Private Schools are successful.
