Education is not how much you have memorized and can reproduce to pass exams. You've got good education when your knowledge has transformed you into a lady or gentleman. You've got good education when you have acquired the capacity to study on your own to improve your life and that of others. Education is not when the head is full of stuff; it is when the head is well organised: when you can link different theories, form a judgement and create your own theory. It is not about copious quotation of authors, but the ability to critique authors, discover where they are coming from, their sources, motivations and prejudices. You don't just swallow everything you read! You are educated when you are no longer ruled by circumstances, people's opinion, and every wind of doctrine- written in books or given in speeches.
