Brave Nation, we want to remind you that we DO have school on Fridays throughout August. We will have school this Friday (August 16), next Friday (August 23), and the following Friday (August 30) before switching students to the four-day schedule for the rest of the school year.
It has been a great two days of our first week of the 2024-2025 school year!
A HUGE shout out to the GENEROUS helpers who have come down to lend a helping hand on our campus at arrival and dismissal! Thank you all!
Parents,
We had a great first day. Our families did a great job walking in and encouraging their students today. Please remember we will no longer have parents walking in with their students.
Your role in the dismissal process is crucial, and we want to help you understand how you can make it even smoother tomorrow.
1. Students who ride a bus must have a yellow tag on their backpack with the bus number, name from Skyward, and the address for drop off. This is part of our commitment to your child's safety.
2. Car riders—You must hang your Car Smart number in your window so our staff can see it and type it in. If you do not have your number, you will be asked to park and wait until the car line is completed to check out your student with your ID.
3. Parents must use McClendon Road (enter from CR 543 near the bus hut) to enter the car drop-off/pick-up lanes. McClendon does not have walk-up drop-off/pick-up.
4. Parent pick-up starts at 3:40; once we work out the minor issues, it usually takes about 20 minutes to complete. Please be sure to arrive on time so we can make sure our day ends successfully.
Morning Drop Off
In the morning, all car riders will use the CR 543 entrance by the bus hut and enter the car lane.
You will move to the cone and stop when directed by the CISD officers or staff.
If you are on the outside lane (not by the sidewalk), students will walk down the middle to one of our officers to cross at the crosswalk. In the morning, they DO NOT walk between cars.
Students in 2nd—5th grade can open their doors and exit once all cars have stopped, and the staff starts opening doors.
In kindergarten to 1st grade, a staff member will open the doors to help them out. (Once 1st graders are ready, they can open their doors)
Doors open at 7:00 am
If you arrive after 7:25 am, you will park and walk your child in to ensure they get checked in and are safely in the building. DO NOT let your child walk to the door if our staff is not outside. Allowing your child to walk in without staff present is a safety issue, and we want all our braves to be safe.
💛More happy faces at lunchtime!💙
It is lunchtime at MES and there are a lot of smiles!
