India's drug regulator has given the green light to Covishield (the local name for the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine developed in the UK) and Covaxin, locally-made by pharma company Bharat Biotech.

India is a vaccine powerhouse: it makes 60% of the world's vaccines and is home to half a dozen major manufacturers.

So what do we know about India's vaccines?

How does Covishield work ?

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is being manufactured locally by the Serum Institute of India, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer. It says it is producing more than 50 million doses a month.

The vaccine, which is known as Covishield, is made from a weakened version of a common cold virus (known as an adenovirus) from chimpanzees. It has been modified to look more like coronavirus - although it can't cause illness.
When the vaccine is injected into a patient, it prompts the immune system to start making antibodies and primes it to attack any coronavirus infection.

What about Covaxin ?

The homegrown government-backed vaccine has been developed by Bharat Biotech, a 24-year-old vaccine maker, which has a portfolio of 16 vaccines and exports to 123 countries.

It is an inactivated vaccine which means that it is made up of killed coronaviruses, making it safe to be injected into the body. Bharat Biotech used a sample of the coronavirus, isolated by India's National Institute of Virology.

When administered, immune cells can still recognise the dead virus, prompting the immune system to make antibodies against the pandemic virus

The jab is administered in two doses given between four and 12 weeks apart. It can be safely stored at temperatures of 2C to 8C, about the same as a domestic refrigerator, and can be delivered in existing health care settings such as doctors' surgeries.

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest,
It broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best.

They say that memories are golden, Well maybe that is true,
But we never wanted memories, We only wanted you,

Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us, We will always remember you.

We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore, We did our duty to the end,
Till we could do no more.

In tears we watched you sinking,We watched you fade away, And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay.

Our lips cannot speak how we loved you,
Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God only knows how we miss you. In our home that is lonely today.

WE WILL MISS YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER. 😔

Suman,
REST IN PEACE 🙏🏼
U are in hearts of LBKMCH family ♥

World No To***co Day (WNTD) 2020
It is an annual event organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to highlight the risk associated with the use of to***co, to make people understand how second-hand smoke affects smoker, their family and their community. It is also important to advocate policies that reduce the use of to***co. According to WHO,

To***co kills half of its users and more than 8 million people each year. Direct to***co use deaths are more than 7 million and around 1.2 million are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke. Also, over 80% of the world's 1.3 billion to***co users live in low and middle-income countries.

Life is a precious gift of nature; we should value life and should not waste it by doing senseless and meaningless things. To***co can make you happy for some time or give pleasure for some time but a healthy person with no such habits can lead a good and happy life and can go far in life. . “Health is like money.
