Dear Class of 1980,

A 40th High School Reunion is too important of a milestone to not recognize! Based on feedback from several of you, we have scheduled a ‘Virtual Reunion’ on Saturday, June 6th. This is exactly 40 years from the day we graduated from Rocky River High School! The meeting will begin at 5:00 pm ET. and it will take place on Zoom. We will kickoff the session as one group and then we will have random breakout rooms where you can better catch up with each other.

To help everyone get into the Reunion spirit, we encourage you to:
Wear and bring your favorite Rocky River Pirate gear! Shirts, hats, drinkware filled with beverage of choice, you name it.
Bring a memory or two to share! Dig out those old photos and mementos to jumpstart the reminiscing.
Encourage your loved ones and/or pets to say, “hello” if they’re home.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, June 6. Please share this information with those you stay in touch. We do not have everyone’s contacts. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Greetings Rocky River Class of 1980

My sincere hope is that this finds you all healthy and well. Last evening we had a reunion meeting to discuss the appropriate way to proceed with our celebration. After a great deal of discussion, we unanimously agreed that we should postpone our reunion until we are certain that the event can take place and that doing so would not jeopardize anyone’s health. Currently Ohio is still under a stay at home order, no gatherings of 10 people or more, all large events have been cancelled through the summer. Rather than drag this out and see what may or may not happen we felt that putting our energy into an event that may well be cancelled didn’t make sense. We also wanted those that may have already purchased airfare and made travel arrangements to have a chance to cancel or reschedule while the travel restrictions remain in place.
We will continue to meet through Zoom and monitor the situation. As soon as we have comprehensive and updated information we will start to develop plans for our reunion in the fall of 2021. I know that I look forward to seeing everyone. As always, your input is valuable; please feel free to let us know your thoughts. We are all maneuvering through strange times. It is my wish that we all come out of this closer to our families and friends and with a great appreciation for all that we do have and what is truly important. Be kind and be well.

We had our 2nd 40th reunion planning meeting last evening. Big shout out to all that responded to the survey. We had 78 responses and as a group we all appreciate your input. We are working on securing a date. As you may imagine there are a lot of moving parts. It is our mission to have information and a date quickly. If you know of fellow classmates that may not be in the loop please reach out to them and have them join this group or send us their contact information. I know not everyone is on Facebook. Big thanks to Kerry Ivkovic, Lori Alvarez-Casciani, Bob DeAngelis, Lance Ambrose, Lisa Cobb, Karen Meihls Kriaris, Jim Weist, Dori Thomas Suchecki for working together to put a fun and memorable event together. Welcome to the information page for the 40th reunion of the class of 1980. Please invite fellow classmates and let's get this event off to a great start. Kerry Ivkovic has graciously offered to lead our committee. We met last night at Herb's Tavern.
