. . . And the #1 reason you know you just got back from Italy: Your new morning announcement is "wakey; wakey!"
#2 You find a euro in your pocket and wonder if you can get a bottle of aqua with it in the cafeteria.
#3: You startle awake worried that you missed the bus.
#4: You wonder when we'll have free time today.
#5: You aren't sure if you need the N95 mask or the regular mask today.
#6: You go to breakfast hoping they'll have prosciutto and cheese
“Buongiorno!” #7. You greet your family at breakfast, responded with grunts from sibs who did not attend the trip.
My final messages on here will be my annual "Top Ten Reasons You Know You Are Getting Back From A Trip to Italy” #10: You can't wait to get gelato in the next city. #9: You zone out in Bonacchi's class because she sounds just like the guide at the Roman Forum. #8 was submitted by Jacob Hernandez: You say "Prego" at Quik Chek completely confusing the cashier. More tomorrow.

The chaperones and our tour manager, Elizabeth, would like to thank all of the wonderful travelers on this trip. They were absolutely fantastic! They were attentive to the guides, well behaved everywhere they went, and most importantly, they were so much fun! Parents thank you so much for raising such great kids.

Our last hurrah was the gladiator school. Talk about a change of pace. They LOVED every minute of it. Sword play, spears bow and arrow. What could go wrong? It was awesome.

Our second day in room could not have been more spectacular. While April showers are certainly needed they did not dampen our day one bit. We spent all morning touring the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. As always it was jaw dropping. Kids continue to amaze us with their interest and respect.

Next Stop... Florence as ALJ Students Traverse Italy FLORENCE, ITALY - The intrepid ALJ travelers arrived in Florence on Easter Sunday. After checking in at the Hotel California, they began two whirlwind days in the birthplace of the Renaissance.

They say that Rome was not built in one day, but ALJ did tour the highlights of Rome in that amount of time. In one day they toured the Colosseum, the Roman forum, the piazza Venezia, the Spanish steps, The Piazza Novena, And the Trevi fountain. If that wasn’t enough after dinner they went for a walk along the Tiner River to see the Castello San Angelo. Over 20,000 steps taken in nearly 12 hours. Nighty night kids.

Mrs. Bonacchi was thrilled to be able to not only introduce ALJ students to her hometown, but also to spend time with her wonderful aunts.

We were able to get on stage for a bit to get them all learning the dance.

Enjoyed getting to know Sorrento. Then headed to the Tarantella lesson. Next stop Rome.

As expected, Capri was spectacular. The weather was cool and sunny, the boat ride around the island was the best we’ve experienced. Now on to tarantella.

Off to the gorgeous island of Capri...
