The archaeological season of the excavations in Sector 5 of the ancient city of Cabyle with the excavation supervisors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Valchev (Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski"), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veneta Handziyska-Yankulova (RHM-Sofia; UniBIT) and deputy Head Assist. Prof Dr. Nikolay Dimitrov (NAIM-BAS). The studies took place during three weeks in September. The archaeologists uncovered the remains of an ancient fortress wall and found a variety of artefacts, including about 200 bronze coins and a golden solidus of Emperor Valentinian I. The rare and valuable find was found in a burnt layer under a fallen roof, the burning of which can be linked to the Gothic war of Emperor Valens in 376-378. The gold solidus of Valentinian, the elder brother of Valens, was minted in the capital mint of Constantinople between August 24, 367 and November 17, 375.

Приключи археологическият сезон на проучванията в сектор V на античния град Кабиле с ръководители на разкопките доц. д-р Иван Вълчев (Софийски университет „Св. Климент Охридски“), доц. д-р Венета Ханджийска-Янкулова (РИМ-София; УниБИТ) и заместник-ръководител гл. ас. д-р Николай Димитров (НАИМ-БАН). Проучванията се проведоха в рамките на три седмици през месец септември. Археолозите разкриха останки от антична крепостна стена и откриха разнообразни артефакти, сред които около 200 бронзови монети и един златен солид на император Валентиниан I. Рядката и ценна находка е намерена в горял пласт, под паднал покрив, чието опожаряване може да се свърже с готската война на император Валент от 376-378 г. Златният солид на Валентиниан, по-големия брат на Валент, е отсечен в столичната монетарница на Константинопол, в периода между 24 август 367 г. – 17 ноември 375 г.
