My son’s a pretty apprehensive and empathetic kid. As a parent I value it’s not up to me to ‘force’ him to do things that challenge him (trust me it’s bloody hard).
~~~~~
But rather surround him by others that raise him up. Lil mate here is older and clearly more advanced on a variety of levels.
~~~~~
But i love watching him exert himself in ways he would never do on his own, or me telling him.
~~~~~
It’s why younger siblings also progress far quicker. Think Michael Jordan, Koby Abberton, to Serena Williams.
~~~~~
I also wish I could freeze these moments in time. It’s amazing 🥰
We’ve all been there 😂

Not wrong 😂😂😂

Big shout out to everyone who has ever reached out to me regarding ideas and strategies for their schools athletic development journey! You guys rock🤘🏼

12 months to the day I launched . Many lessons have been learnt along the way.
1. It’s ok to celebrate your own success. It’s neither arrogant or bragging, everyone’s on their own journey.
2. It’s up to you, and only you to back yourself- no one will do it for you.
3. There was plenty of self-doubt. Surround yourself by true callers who support you by putting you to the test.
4. Supporters will always put up and invest in your cause, not hit you up for ‘freebies.’
5. The message/ vision needs to be bigger than yourself- or it simply won’t last.
6. They’re not ‘favours’ when others believe in your message. Everyone will provide an introduction to whomever it needs to succeed.
7. Many a hurdle presents itself. There’s no such things as road blocks, just opportunities to pivot and evolve. No matter how frustrating.
8. Don’t assume others know what’s taken 18yrs to amass. Even the simplest of knowledge can be light bulb moments for others.
9. Family and loved ones support in different ways. Learn, understand, and embrace every attempt.
10. Being an inspiration comes in many forms. Never underestimate the impact you can have on others.
Grateful for every lesson and experience on this ride. Thank you to everyone who has played a part no matter how big or small 🙏🏼

Here are good reasons why if you haven’t, it’s worth investigating.
It’s not through lack of facilities or opportunities this generation are in a fragile state.

We’re often tempted with our ‘Adult Mindset’ to think the best way to get better at something is to start it earlier.
Or to do it more often.

As sporting parents it’s our hard earned dollars that get put to the test in structured training/coaching sessions.

Always grateful to the many readers who have not only been able to relate, but have taken the time to share their thoughts.
Why is it that with the explosion of women in sport statistically the drop out rates from competitive sport within the teenage years continues to grow?
~~~~~
The current state of women in sport is nothing short of pure magic. However what are the perceptions for those girls who don’t feel competent enough in sport to be competitive?
~~~~~
Are we creating a bigger divide and more of a reason for girls to disengage not only from sport but physical activity entirely?…
Popped in for a quick chat with the crew at . Only a couple of copies left, so if you’re in Brissy say gday to the team… and the best bit- no postage 😉
