This one is a little easier to read. 😉

Dear Meigs Primary Families, April 27, 2020

We hope this finds you safe, healthy and happily enjoying your family time at home. I’m sure, like us, you never expected school buildings to be closed for the remainder of the year. Distance learning has been difficult for all of us, we miss our students and the relationships we have with them.

Here is information you need to know for the end of the year:

Wednesday, April 29th Food Pick-up/Learning Packets/Student Belongings-Please drive into the primary school parking lot and pull up to your child’s grade level tent area (they will be clearly marked K, 1, 2). Stay in your car, staff members will bring student’s belongings and learning packets to you.

Learning packets -Final learning packet for May 4th -May 8th will be available on Wednesday, April 29th during food pick-up (under grade level tents). After food pick-up, they will be located on the porch/entry way of the primary school in totes labeled for each grade.

Student belongings will be bagged and available for pick-up on Wednesday, April 29th from 10-12 (during food pick-up time under grade level tent). After this, they will be located on the primary school porch, in a tote or box, labeled with teacher’s name. Lost and found items are also on the primary school porch and can be gone through at any time to find student belongings.

Returning Student work/learning packets-We are ending student learning packets on May 8th. The last learning packet (for May 4th -8th ) will be available on Wednesday, April 29th. We realize that many of you will be ready to return the work packets the following week. Therefore, we will begin collecting items, that need returned, on Wednesday, May 6th during food pick-up from 10:00-12:00 in the primary school parking lot. We will use the same system that we used to distribute student belongings. There will be grade level tents set up on the primary school parking lot. After that, you can drop off on the primary porch. We ask that all work and books be placed in the maroon or red bag that the first work packet came in. Please staple or tape your child’s name on the outside of the bag. All student work, bags and books must be returned by Friday, May 15th.

Summer Reading- Also on May 6th, we will have summer reading bags ready for pick-up. The bags will contain books, at your child’s individual guided reading level, based on their reading level when they left us in March. The summer reading bags will be available at the grade level tents on the primary school parking lot. After that, you may pick-up summer reading bags on the primary school porch.

Continued Food pick-up is every Wednesday, from 10:00-12:00, at the elementary school or the middle school through May 20th. After May 20th, food pick-up will continue at the elementary school only through the end of June. If you are unable to pick-up food you can email Chrissy Musser at [email protected] to arrange for a volunteer to deliver. We ask that you please only request a delivery if it is absolutely necessary.

If you have candy bar money you have two options:

1. You can drop it off at food pick-up on Wednesday-please include your child’s name, grade and teacher.

2. You can pay online at Cheddar up https://my.cheddarup.com/c/candy-bar-fundraiser

Just to sum it up:

Wednesday, April 29th – 10:00-12:00-Pick-up food, final learning packet & student belongings.

Wednesday, May 6th- 10:00-12:00-Pick-up food, summer reading bags, final learning packet & student belongings. You may also drop off student maroon or red bags containing work and books.

Friday, May 15th- All student work and books (in maroon or red bag) must be dropped off by this date.

Thank you for all of your efforts during this time of distance learning,

We Miss You!

Hello Families,
I'm saddened by the news that we won't be returning for the rest of the school year, but understand it is for the best. 😢

Thank you so much for sharing your kiddos with me. I love and miss them so much! ❤ I consider myself blessed to have been their teacher.

I will be going to the school this week to pack up their belongings. You can pick them up, as well as the last learning packet, on Wednesday the 29th during food pick up from 10-12. If you do not pick up food, you can pick them up on the k-2 porch after 12.

Give your child a big hug from me! 😊

Sending Lots of Love,
Mrs. Bolin
