Hello again everyone. Sending out this to remind everyone that we will still be having the alumni regatta on April 29th. I will be sending out an NOR and Sailing Instructions in the next week or so. We hope to have as many Alumni there as possible and will be continuing to have these events in the future. But I thought I would get you guys all the info before I post it officially on the NOR.
The regatta will be at SBJSA on April 29th. Likely first warning about 10:30 that morning.
Anyone is welcome as long as they are connected in some way to RIT Sailing. You can bring someone you would like to sail with or can make a decision day of.
The weekend of the 29th is also Imagine RIT so we will have a lot of coming and going from the current team, they will likely be rotating out of a few boats so hopefully you all will have a chance to sail against and meet a lot of the current team members.
We have to confirm with SBYC but I think we will be able to host a small event afterwards at the yacht club.
We are still making a determination on if we are planning on doing Sunday also, was looking to get some feedback from people who were attending their thoughts.
If anyone has any specific questions or comments let us know

Welcome back Sailors!
If you are interested to return to sailing this Spring or want to try sailing, we will be having our first meeting of this semester in LBR A205 this Wednesday at 7 pm. Please note that this is a different room than the one we were meeting in last semester.
We look forward to seeing you and want to welcome back members returning from co-op plus meet new people who have never sailed before! We will be talking about our exciting plans for this semester and brush up on some rusty sailing knowledge.
In addition, club dues will not be required until our first on water practice, so don't feel afraid to come out and get involved!
Sincerely,
The RIT Sailing Team
We sincerely thank everyone who donated to the team this Roar Day. Your contributions will allow us to bring the joy of sailing to more RIT students. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Great practice on Friday before the front rolled through, with a stunning rainbow in the background. Enjoy!
Hey guys,
Just a reminder that tomorrow is ROAR Day! If you're interested in giving to the team at all, please take a look at this link.... https://www.rit.edu/~w-giving/ROAR/
Just fill out "RIT Sailing Club" in the comments, and you're good to go.
We're aiming to use the funds for coaching, equipment for new sailors (mostly drysuits for when it gets cold out), and saving so we can hopefully increase the number of practices and reduce dues next semester so that more students can sail!
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to message me (Ian Taylor) or Chad Kratina.
Have a great week!
Cheers,
Ian Taylor

RIT Sailing had a busy weekend, with three different regattas, spanning two countries! (Ok, it was just Canada).
CanAm Cup - An RIT Sailing favorite, held at Queens University in Kingston Ontario. Strong winds made for an exciting day, with the second race only having 6 of 13 boats actually finishing. The racing was called off for the day, and resumed to more manageable conditions on Sunday.
Cornell's Women's Regatta - The ladies of the RIT Sailing team took to Cornell for the women's regatta. The weather left much to be desired, with light winds and a small rain shower but it did not damper their spirits.
Cazenovia Fall Open - Held at Colgate in Hamilton NY, marked by a nice steady breeze of 8-10 knots, and the best weather of the three regattas.
Great job to all the sailors who went competed!
