During this week of solemnity, let us engage in contemplation, prayer, and acts of kindness towards others, allowing ourselves to emerge strengthened and uplifted as we progress towards Easter's promise of renewal and hope.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐤𝐚 (𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐏 𝐀𝐝𝐍𝐔) spearheaded the 1st Bicol Political Science Consortium of the Bicol Coalition of Political Science Students.(BCPSS)

More than 150 student leaders, faculty, moderators and staff regionally, along with moderators of student organizations from the Bicol Region gathered at the event held on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟕-𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, at the 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐫.

The consortium also featured four prominent figures addressing crucial aspects of governance and social issues. 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐲 captivated the audience with his discourse on the "Importance of imagination in public policy," shedding light on the innovative approaches needed to address contemporary societal challenges. Following Dy's compelling presentation, 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐱, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐊 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Hon. Felix shared invaluable insights on the imperative task of "developing young champions for good governance," emphasizing the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future of governance and community leadership.

Continuing the discourse on pertinent political matters, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐨 provided a thorough examination titled "Punto-Por-Puntong Sagot sa mga Argumento Pabor sa Cha-Cha at People's Initiative," offering a comprehensive analysis of arguments surrounding constitutional amendments and initiatives with 𝐀𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐚 from 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐳𝐚 from 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨 from 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, and 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨 from 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 as a reactor panelists.

Meanwhile, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐫. joined the discussion virtually, delivering a thought-provoking address on "Critical Dissent and an authentic opposition are vital to democracy," underscoring the indispensable role of dissent and opposition in maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions.

Moreover, the consortium showcased the culmination of academic endeavors through thesis presentations by 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐂. 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨 and 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨, who delved into pertinent societal issues with their studies. Bongadillo and Aquino presented their research on “Children in Conflict with the Law: A Study of Juvenile Delinquency in the Municipality of Bacacay, Albay,”. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐫 also presented his paper entitled “The Catanduanes Press: Its Challenges and Impact on Local Politics,” respectively, contributing valuable insights to the academic discourse on media politics and social dynamics.

The socials night at the event was a celebration of diversity and talent, featuring performances by 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐞'𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, the 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞, and 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐱. The event provided an ideal space for attendees to mingle, interact, and build connections. It fostered a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity, breaking down barriers and encouraging open communication. The socials night was more than just a gathering; it brought people together in harmony and collaboration, strengthening bonds within the consortium and laying the foundation for future collaborations

The 1st Bicol Political Consortium was coordinated by the Liga ng mga Estudyante sa Agham Pampolitika (LEAP) along with its dedicated officers and volunteers, headed by 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐃. 𝐄𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐞, the President and𝐌𝐚. 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐢𝐦𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨, the Internal Vice President. This effort was overseen by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨, serving as LEAP Moderator, in collaboration with the𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬.
