Plan A was formed to bridge the gap between academics and athletics. As a former player and current athletics director I have over time come to realize and understand why student athletes are not excelling at a higher rate. Teachers can't focus on a special few students when they teach hundreds at a time. Coaches can only teach schemes and tactics instead of concentrating on player development. A parent balancing the conditions of life with a child who has athletic aspirations can be daunting.
