Today's FCCLA table was poppin' with excitement at NCCA's Ways To Join Lunch event! Over 100 popped by to see what we had planned for this upcoming year, and our officer team did an amazing job recruiting potential members! Our "ulimate journey" has officially begun.......Stay tuned!

FCCLA Officers, along with other NCCA CTSOs, put together a Fall Festival for the 2 Pre-k classes today! We had an incREDible time playing games and giving out treats!

This week, NCCA FCCLA wanted to spread awareness about distracted driving. With the help of Teens of Drivers Seats, we held 2 interactive assemblies, gave away Swag Bags while sharing info during lunch, and did seatbelts and cell phone checks in the student parking lot at dismissal. I am amazed at the level of engagement and involvement, and even more excited that we have such a incREDible Officer Team in place to help facilitate all of my crazy ideas. Hopefully, everyone took away something new as we prepare for Fall Break!

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, ECE's Kimberly Toro-Rodriguez (Level 1 & 2 simultaneously) was reading in English and Spanish to our pre-k students. She claimed to be nervous but did a great job!I

Thank you to Mrs. McGiboney for coming up with the idea.

Touchdown w/FCCLA was a total success today! Lots of eager members came out to take part in the biggest meeting in NCCA FCCLA History! We are ready to take on what will be an "incREDible" year!

Photos from NCCA ECE & FCCLA's post 27/09/2022

Today was "incREDible" as we welcomed 48 out of 78 members to "Touchdown w/FCCLA!" We had to move locations 3 times to accomodate all of our eager members as we laid out a plan for the year as we ate, played games, and fellowshipped for 2 hours. Everyone left excited and ready to take on this year!

Special Shout-Out to our officer team, all 3 advisors, and our fabulous members for making this meeting a success. It was truly an "incREDible" afternoon!

Today ECE3 had the opportunity to participate in a Mini-Teacher Workshop to teach reading skills to elementary students. We are so grateful for our partnership with Porterdale Elementary, and even more appreciative for Mrs. Morrow (the Instructional Coach) for taking time out of her schedule to help us. Next week, we move on to Math.

FCCLA and our fellow NCCA CTSOs are having an "incREDible" time at their Etiquette Luncheon today. Retired FACS Educator Charlotte Joy presented, Chef Beverly Stahl and the Culinary students served lunch, and the CTSO Officers took headshots and group pictures while fellowshipping with their peers. Great job NCCA!

Today ECE1 learned the importance of communication, planning, and teamwork as we finished our FCCLA Unit and built Marshmallows Towers! The tallest tower won double the sweet treats (since everyone earned something for participating) and then we all placed Jenga! I love days like this when learning is fun and students are engaged!

My ECE1 kiddos dyed and created Egg Babies this week! After 1 pink dye spill and 3 cracked babies that didn't make it home (they can redo at home), its safe to say that the next 5 days are going to be interesting with them carrying these everywhere they go.

Days like today make all the stresses of being an Educator worthwhile. Three of my ECE babies were recognized as Top 10, and one chose me as their Top Teacher. I end this day grateful and blessed.

And on yesterday, Thursday, we combined Day 4 & 5 to "Make Skills/FCCLA Count." We showed "Nothing Bundt Love" to our educators again for all they do (which some of my coworkers had already eaten theirs before 8:45a 🤣), some members dressed professionally, and we had 2 students represent us beautifully at Live Oak Elementary's Career Day. It was a great ending to our annual FCCLA Week, and we are super proud of all of the students who were intentional with showing up and wholeheartedly participating. Its imporrtant to "make each day count" as you represent for who and what you love. I think the kiddos are getting it............💞

Shout out again to my Baker Boo Extrodinaire Chef Beverly Stahl! None of this would have been possible without you by my side or in my head! So blessed to have you be apart of our NCCA Family!

Wednesday was FCCLA's Day 3! I thought my idea of "Making Service Count" was going to be hard to sell, so I kept it a secret until it was time to work. Surprisingly, after making a ton of jokes and seeing who can full their bags the fastest, we cleaned the student parking lot. You should take pride in your surroundings so who better to show to than NCCA FCCLA!

After being pregnant the past 3 weeks (each week represented 3 months), ECE1 gave birth go their Ping-Pong Balloon Baby. This activity was a great way to show dilation of the cervix and how contractions work, as well as just being funny to watch their reaction when the ball baby "popped" out! 🤣

Which one of my former students remember my infamous Baby Project? 😂🤣

Tuesday was FCCLA's Day 2! The theme of "Making Educators Count" was extremely important so my partner in crime, Beverly Stahl, came up with a cute card for students write Thank You Notes. We made sure EVERY teacher and educator in the building received a message. After school, we fed them..........again and then put them to work to orangize and delivery everything.

So you are wondering how we got the kids to write messages for EVERY teacher in the building? We gave them a FREE donut bite! 😂🤣😂 High school kids would do almost anything for food. 😂🤣😂

Monday was FCCLA's Day 1 of our Week. The theme, Making Members Count, was a great way to start our week as we painted the school red and showed love to each other! Afterschool we fed them, played games, and just simply chilled out.

I could not have done half of any of this without my two Co-Advisors and NCCA Chef Extrodinares Beverly Stahl and Scott Quinlan. They match my crazy and even had me frosting 1,234,567,890 cinammon rolls for our February fundraiser. We raised over $500 for our chapter!!!!!

🌟Gabriela Sanchez is being recognized as the 2022 CTAE Student of the Year for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) pathway at NCCA‼️

“Gabriela is a phenomenal student who is currently taking ECE2 and ECE3 simultaneously, with 100% in both classes. She has worked consistently and diligently (both virtually last year and face-to-face this year), not only in the classroom but also in Pre-K labs. I enjoy having her in my class, and appreciate her kindness and desire to be successful.” - Ms. Jasmen Moore, ECE Trainer 📚✏️

Congratulations Gabriela! We are so proud of you!! 🤩👏🏼

I am blessed to work alongside some amazing people who not only educate, but go over and beyond to motivate and encourage today's youth. Roberta Axson (one of my school's Healthcare Trainers) taught my students a multi-layed lesson on overcoming abuse, managing stress, and giving inspiration to achieve future goals. It was an amazing 2 days that was positive and uplifting, and lifechanging for a few who needed to shift their way of thinking. Thank you Axson for your support and bringing real-life connections to everyday struggles.
