Dear Families and Students,

Tomorrow marks the start of our state testing, and we’ll begin with Science Session One in the morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Please take a moment to remind your child that this is simply a chance to show what they’ve learned. It’s perfectly normal to feel a little nervous — that just means they care! One test does not define them. We’re approaching this with a positive mindset, focusing on effort over perfection.

Here are a few helpful reminders to help your child feel ready and confident:

Get a good night’s sleep

Charge your Chromebook

Dress comfortably

Bring a water bottle

We hope everyone had a wonderful and refreshing spring break! As we return, we want to remind you that our Leadership Day is this Wednesday, March 26th. Students should have their Displaying Genius presentations ready to go.

On March 5th, your child received a planning guide, expectations, and instructions to begin working on this at-home project. Please ensure they are prepared by reviewing the following:

✅ Plan for 10-15 minutes of presentation time and 5-10 minutes for questions from our guests.
✅ Choose your Genius—your unique talent, strength, or natural ability.
✅ Create a fun and engaging presentation for our Leadership Day guests.
✅ Make it visual and interactive to capture your audience’s attention.
✅ Practice speaking clearly and confidently.
✅ Involve your audience to make it more engaging.
✅ Be ready to answer questions about your presentation.
✅ End with a strong message that leaves an impact!

Due to continued unsafe road conditions in subdivisions across the district, the Northwest R-I School District will have an AMI day on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Students with devices should charge their Chromebooks today, and K-2 students will be contacted by their teachers through SeeSaw.

Secondary students should check email and Google Classroom for assignments.

Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you safe and well. Due to icy road conditions in many subdivisions, school buses will not be able to safely transport students tomorrow, Thursday, January 8th. As a result, the school district will implement an AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) day. This means students will complete their learning activities from home.

Please ensure that all assignments listed below are completed, as they are required for students to be marked present. Any incomplete assignments by the start of the next in-person school day will result in the student being marked absent.
